“Clean Hotel w/ Polite Staff, But Nothing Special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

The rooms are on the small size and the bathroom was very small - could not fit two people in there at the same time. I was on a business trip with my husband, and while it was close to his office, it was far from the main city center area. When we arrived around 9:45pm the restaurant was still open (until 10pm), but they refused to serve us and suggested we go to the bar. We eventually got service, but grudgingly. The staff was completely unhelpful (they lacked knowledge) when it came to late night restaurants that might be open, and since you are not near the city center the options were basically non-existent. I would not stay here again if on a pleasure trip.

I went there on a business trip. It is close (aprox 15min walk, without any rush) from Finance Center. I would not recommend it for leisure, as its location is not that convenient (taxi from Amsterdam Centraal costs us 25euros). The hotel has several conference rooms, and while staying there, some seminars took place.
I ordered a room with bath, it was ok. Nicely decorated, comfort for granted and it was clean: NH style. Minibar was empty, though. There is a fitness room, three days in the dark. Lights were not working, and we guests were training thanks to TV was on.
We ordered lunch, dinner and breakfast. Breakfast is very good, but lunch/dinner were very expensive (minim 22 eur for eating sandwiches). For dinner, hamburguer was ok, but I ordered carpaccio, it was not delicious at all.
the hotel would not stand out for service either.

Let me start by saying that we stay often at NH Hotels. Why? The hotels are always good, maybe an exception of NH Mechelen (Belgium). This hotel however, is not just good, but it is very good. Clean and wide rooms, good beds, clean bathroom, friendly staff and a good breakfast. The only thing that was not so good was the walking distance to the nearest tramway/metro. And of course, it was raining during that walk. But, seriously, a perfect place to stay. The city centre is not in close distance, but public transport is (when you get there after the walk) very good.

We stayed here as a couple for 3 nights. Our room was on the 4th floor. Rooms are large and cosy with enough detail to furniture. Minibar is a regular one, not one of those weight-sensing horror devices that give you check-out nightmares. There's a strict no smoking policy. If you happen to violate it you will face a €100 fine at check out. If you want to use free Wi-Fi you've got to ask for a voucher at the reception. It contains a user name and password which is valid for 24 hours. You've got to replace the code the next day. Never register yourself from the opening page on your device, as it may suddenly charge you a €5.50 high speed internet fee. They won't refund it even if you did it mistakenly as in my case. Breakfast contains various cheese and hams, but beware, I got seriously ill from my first breakfast. I guess something I ate was not washed thoroughly or was contaminated. I blame the cheese or ham because that morning I only ate those. Fever and diarrhea did not stop until next day. Another issue is the noisy heater. You are limited to adjust the air condition to between 17 and 23 degrees only. And when you set it to a higher blowing rate, it will be quite noisy. Transportation is another thing. You've got to walk 10 minutes at least to the nearest tram station (Van Bouschizen or something). Anyway, our agent had upgraded us from a 3-star hotel near airport to this, so we did not bother the issues too much.

Great hotel which I definately recommend to all! The level of service is outstanding, when I requested help in finding my way to the city centre (which is very easy accesible), I received detailled information. The rooms are very clean, spacious and modern. Climat control can be individually managed, great!! The breakfast was lovely, all the fresh juices and fruits, a great way to start the day!
I will go back to this hotel for sure the next time we visit Amsterdam!

The hotel is close to Amsterdam Zuid. There was a bus stop in front of the hotel. But it was cancelled. If you wanna go to the Zuid or city centre.Firstly, you should go to the Tram No.5 station on foot,it takes 15 mins.Otherwise taxi will be the only option. The room is not very big,but clean. If you wanna take a good shower, you should choose 6th floor.Because only on 6th floor, the water is running strongly.Breakfast is average. The price is so acceptable. For the couple,a small tip. They put two queen size beds together. Not a king size bed.

we was been in there in 2012 in the month of April - Really don't ever bother to decide to booked in this hotel apart on the distance, the front desk clerk that present on me as a front desk manager was horrible. She don't ever know what the hospitality is, I asked her if we can change room because of there's a problem in that room and she said that they don't have other rooms that they may offer me... Please..... That stay will be the last ever. The room was ok, it was clean but when we arrive the foot of the bed was broken and i present it right away to the reception that after 20/30 minutes the maintenance arrive on fixing it. They don't even check it up when they clean it, my gosh :-) really funny.... This hotel is not a hotel because of its staff uneducated and need to be praticed what the hospitality is......

Room Tip: Do not reserve a room it is the worst hotel ever of Amsterdam
