“Easter weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2014

We stayed here for Easter weekend (Thursday to Sunday).
The rooms are clean and fresh, the TV has a couple of English channels(BBC 1+2)
The staff are friendly and always happy to help. We were a bit worried about the distance to city center but this was no problem by public transport with the small map we were provided with by the hotel.(Approx 20 mins by bus or tram)
There were no problems with transfers to Airport and city center and all the attractions in Amsterdam,we did most of them, and all by public transport, no need for taxis even for a gig that we went to out of the city center on Saturday night, and then had to use a night bus to get back at 5 am on Easter Sunday morning. Small walk to the bus stop but dropped almost at the hotel. All the bus drivers were also friendly and happy to help.We bought a 72 hour pass for about 18 euro I think, very good value.
We had a great stay here and would recommend it to anyone who is not afraid to get out of the center and see a bit more

The hotel is accessible from Schipol via Bus 69. Several trams will bring you to and from hotel to the city center in 20-30 minutes. Not much to do in the immediate area which wasnt a problem for us as we arrived late at night. We had a lovely room facing the canal at the back side so it was nice and peaceful. Dana at the reception was super helpful.

We stayed in this hotel in mid April with our two daughters. We had a very large room with four single beds and both the bedroom and the bathroom were immaculate. We thought the range of food at breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly. Whilst it was a 25 minute tram ride to the station we got the benefit of a nice quiet hotel. There were only a couple of restaurants nearby to eat at night but we tried the Turkish restaurant just over the road and they were very friendly and we all ended up with something we could eat at a reasonable price - even my fussy daughters. We have stayed in lots of hotels in Europe and further afield and we though this was pretty good if you wanted somewhere clean, quiet and tidy as a base to visit the city.

Three friends and I stayed in March for a weekend.
The hotel is clean and tidy. The rooms were spacious and well presented. Breakfast was ok, not excellent, but not bad either.

The location is why it's such good value, it's a 15/20 minute tram ride to the centre. I probably would stay closer next time..... But would stay here if we got a good deal again.

Amsterdam is an amazing place.... So go!

We were a group of friends who had reserved 3 rooms in the hotel (paid full in advance with room type requested much in advance). Upon arrival, we were told that the rooms have been given to someone else. We demanded an explanation but were not given a satisfactory answer. the staff tried to compensate by giving us 1 free drink at the bar instead of apologizing. The receptionist Linda was extremely rude and she is definitely a bad name to the service industry.

My question to the hotel; when u have received the amount in full with room request-why did you give it away to other guests? This is a breach of promise to customers!

For any hotel stay, if the service is not met, all infrastructure goes to waste because service and promise are the only 2 things are delight a customer (beyond infrastructure).

Location: The hotel is quite far from the city center with just 1 tram service to Dam square.

Dear Amrita7,

thank you for taking the effort of posting a review.
I noticed you even posted two times the same review.
Please understand that we will respond to only one of them.
It can be taken as a reply for both. I spoke with the involved staff and had a closer look to the rooms you reserved and the rooms which were given.
I would kindly like to inform you that the rooms received are spacious Twin Double bedded rooms with a bath tub. The double bedded room indeed were not available but as per contract agreed, this room type remains on request in our hotel.
As an alternative we offered the rooms you stayed in, which are equal or bigger in size.
Because we find it very important that each guest has a great stay we try our utmost best to obey to each single customer request.
Even despite given the circumstance that staff was berated and yelled out.
Therefore we offered you a room change the next day.
You indicated personally at the front desk that this was not needed anymore.
We therefore got the impression the rooms given weren't as bad as imagined oringinally and that your stay was ok. Also at check out, no particular comment was made.

For any additional information, question or doubt please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Best regards,

J.Hammenga

Very nice hotel, rooms were a great size and very clean. Excellent bathroom with modern fixtures. The staff were very friendly at the reception area.

Breakfast in the mornings included a good range of foods from hot eggs to ham and cereal. Was a pleasant stay.
