“nice location, very decent price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

we arrive there 19 april 2013,

quite a friendly staff at the reception, altough missed a little promise (she said the room will be ready in approx 1 hour) when we came back in 1 hour. it took total 2 hours for the room to be ready.
anyway everything else was great,
nice shopping district just around the corner.
there is this small yellow shop/tent selling french fries with dips and fried chicken, they were very very delicious.

room was very small, but clean.

We stayed the weekend here and were a little upset about not being in the centre at first, but after one quiet night there were actually quite happy at not being in the centre of things. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and breakfast is generous. The distance into town not so far after all, as the trams run every quarter of an hour or so, Number 7 taking you to the Museum Quarter and 14 to Dam and shopping.Tickets can be bought at the back of the tram, 2.80 for a one way ticket valid for an hour and 7.50 for the 24 hour ticket. Parking in the hotel is a bit pricey, though you can take your chances with outside the hotel (free Friday night from 7 pm till 9 am. There is also a small market on Saturday morning and a supermarket nearby for a whole cheese or some of those wonderful crispy butter biscuits. Would stay here again.

The hotel is located slightly out of town which is reflected in the price but a 20/25 minute tram ride by bus or tram into the centre of town is fine. The hotel looks a bit of a mess from the outside but inside is much better, staff were really friendly and helpful, spoke good English! The view from outside our window wasn't great because there were broken glasses and beer bottles in the gutter outside but at least the snow covered them up! Breakfast was really good though!

Just returned from Amsterdam and this hotel was clean, comfortable room, friendly staff. The room was at the back of the hotel and was very quiet. But at 07.00 each morning of our stay the builders started work in the office block next door. This was not a problem as we wanted to get up about that time, we was offered another room but decided to stay as it was so quiet, and did give us an early start to the day. Front of hotel is on a mane road so back of hotel is best. The number 69 bus runs past the front and goes direct to the airport, also the number 14 tram runs from outside to Dam square so getting about was no problem. Should you have problems finding a restaurant in town go to Central station platform 2, Grand Cafe Restaurant, GREAT RESTAURANT .

Stayed in a double room for one night. The room was nice and clean, the beds were very comfortable. Chose this hotel based on price, user ratings. We were happy with the hotel. The staff was great and very helpful.

Our room was 177. The room was far away from the lift.

The location was not really very close to city center, but you could reach city center without changing the tram or bus. The bus stop was about 500m away from the hotel. The GVB bus 21 take you to the Amsterdam Centraal station. Travel time is around 20 mins.

The only problem we had was that we reached the hotel very early in the morning at 7:00. As the check in time is from 14:00 to 00:00. We kept our luggage in the luggage room and used the common toilet to freshen up.

We chose this hotel based on price, user ratings, and free wifi. We were very happy with the hotel! Was it the best? No, but it's a Best Western, not the Hilton. BUT, considering the price and location it was perfect for what we paid. The staff was great and very helpful.

The rooms were very clean, the beds were very comfortable, and our view was BEAUTIFUL! We stayed in room 288... not sure how to tell you to recommend one in the area, just ask them for a view of the water. I will be attaching a photo of our view.

They serve breakfast and dinner here. I wasn't ever around during those hours to try it, but I passed by once and it looked (and smelled!) delicious. Also looked very clean. The price seemed reasonable too.

The location is about 15 minutes from the city center, but it is an easy ride. There are buses and trams at the end of the hotel block going in every direction, and the public transportation was easy to figure out so there were no problems there. There is also a "night shop" that is directly across from where the tram will drop you at the end of the day which sells drinks and snacks which you can bring back to the hotel, I didn't pay attention to whether or not there was a vending machine in the building. The man who owns the store is very nice and he has his "cat bodyguard" named Moses with him at all times. Very sweet!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the water! :)

Down the block from the tram (bus) and about 15-20 minute ride to the center of Amsterdam. Comfortable rooms. Nice staff. Free wifi. The best that a best western hotel can offer. Located what seems to be a middle eastern neighborhood but still pretty safe.
