“A little piece of South Africa in Amsterdam”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

I went there last night with two friends who've been to South Africa in 2008. It was difficult to choose between all the delicious dishes, so we chose two mixed grill's and a bobotie. For a starter, it was suggested to take the starter platter which had small pieces of most of the starters. Good decision! Samoosas, spring rolls, fish balls. The mixed grill had springbok with a port-fig sauce, the kudu was with chakalaka, the spareribs with a sticky basting. There was also boerewors, onion rings, some veggies and potato wedges. The meat was superb! Soft and juicy. The spareribs fell of the bone.... I had a bite of the bobotie as well and it was yummy! Dessert was a treat. we ordered tipsy tart, chilly chocolate cake and melktert. The whole meal was accompanied by two bottles of Shiraz. A great evening in a friendly atmosphere. Can't wait for summer to go to the braai!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013 via mobile

Had a great meal here, great service (very friendly), surroundings where very pleasant. All in all - I will come back.
The foods not overly exotic - and has some interesting twists on flavours - well done!!! Great stuff.

“Awesome hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

I can not say enough about how good this restaurant is. The decor is fun, the garden is lovely, the staff is wonderful. The food was amazing! We had an eggroll stuffed with goat cheese, Kudu, Springbok, delicious salad, vegetables, sauces and, for dessert, a sinful pudding cake and wicked spiked coffees. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting good food, nice atmosphere, fair prices, and a break from all the tourists!

“Outstanding cuisine in relaxing atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013 via mobile

Simply beautiful! Everything - food, service, music, decor... Place is small, cosy and nicely decorated.
As for food - don't let simplistic-looking menu deceive you! Ask waiter's advise and go for African Adventure - you won't be disappointed! Kudu grill was tender, mouth-watering and flavorful. Slightly spicy, just to the point of noticing.
I started with broccoli soup - and it was just haven! With a nice touch of nutmeg and smoky flavor... Beautiful!
And, as I learned - the place is chef-owned and operated.
