Description: The Hard Rock Cafe and Amsterdam – they go so well together. Both are chilled, interesting places to meet and enjoy life. This Hard Rock Cafe shares a square with the Holland Casino and is a short skip from live-music venue Paradiso (who supplies the HRC with live music) and the City Theater. The three glass-fronted levels have lovely views over the Singelgracht ,so you can watch Amsterdam’s fleet of canal boats pass by your window as you enjoy the classic American diner cooking and the welcoming atmosphere. This is the usual, comforting Hard Rock interior: dark wood wainscotting, checkered tablecloths, and walls plastered with rock-god memorabilia from the likes of Eddie Van Halen, Jerry Garcia, Jimi Hendrix, Lenny Kravitz and Pink Floyd. For groups, the possibilities are practically endless: seat 20 in the canalside bar, 50 in the Legends Room, 80 on the Hard Rock Terrace, 90 in the Main Dining Room or 160 throughout the entire venue. The menu includes classic and brilliant nachos, burgers, an unforgettable pulled pork sandwich, serious entrees like steaks and barbecue and child-pleasing desserts like hot fudge brownie sundae. The drinks are big and more-ish. Don’t forget to buy the t-shirt to mark your day

“Afternoon snack”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

We spent our last meal there and chose it as it was near to our hotel. On first appearance it's not much like the American Hard Rock Cafe, even if they tried hard with the girls dressed in skimpy outfits and the American way of greeting you.
We sat by the window over looking the canal with a great view though climbing on the seats were a bit difficult. We had a chicken club sandwich which was very filling and tasty. The salad which came with it was a bit on the tired side and took awhile to arrive.

“Amazing evening!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

We had a reservation with the restaurant as we know how busy it can be. We had been told in advance that on the particular night we wanted to go, we might have to wait, but we were guaranteed to be top of the list.

We waited down in the bar with the table notification device. During this time, my friend suddenly fainted and two waitresses helped her by getting a chair and a drink of Cola. She was fine after a few minutes, and by that time our table was ready.

We didn't order a starter this time as every time we have, we've been too full to finish the meal! So this time, we had some vouchers from our hotel for a free Hot Fudge Sundae, finished the main and got the dessert - saved €20 for the 3 of us. My boyfriend told the waitress that it was my friend's birthday so she got a candle in her Sundae and the whole restaurant sang to her!

The waitress herself - Danielle - was very helpful in making our choices for food. Especially the cocktails and recommending a deal where I got to keep the glass! Thanks also to Claire for making the reservation for me again!

Amazing evening had by all!

“Friendly staff, typical HRC”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

No queue for us and very friendly staff. Excellent service with both drinks and food and we had a good laugh with the waiters.

Have eaten here many times and will continue to do so, you know what you are getting and how much it will cost, and you know there will be good food and a great atmosphere.

There are many substandard HRC's around that could take a leaf out of this restaurant's books.

“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

Try to ask for a window seat so that you can eat and drink with the canal view. Go for the experience, not the food as it's pricey and not really tasty.
