Wanting to write something nice about Dobla I was shocked to read some vicious comments, obviously all coming for the same group of three people.
I love Dobla Store and like its says in the name: it is a STORE, not a restaurant or a tearoom or whatever. People just wanting a drink can have their pick of at least half a dozen of other places within seconds of walking distance. Not only is Dobla a store in name, but also in appearance: it is a shop, with a shopwindow displaying the pastries and a counter on the inside. There can be no mistake about this.
Dobla does however have some limited seating capacity for those wanting to taste the pastries they have just bought on the spot. As a gesture to their customers Dobla offers a drink to go with these pastries for the special price of just 4,50 euro. It is made clear, however, that drinks only are not available at Dobla. Again, Dobla is not a restaurant, bar, tearoom or whatever.
Having said all of that: I love Dobla, and so do my family and friends. I just hate not being able to chose between all this deliciousness so sometimes I take home more pastries than I came for.....
Dobla has people pressing their noses against the shopwindow and people taking pictures of the pastries on display. I actually witnessed a chef from Aruba (or some other Antilles island)buying all the different pastries so he could examine them just to be able to offer them to his guests on his island!
Just go and see what Dobla is about; you will not be disappointed!
