5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

If you want to know more about the animals living in the sea surrounding Texel, this is the place to be. I'm from holland but was very amazed about the animals living there. A must see. Also nice with children.

“awesome day at Ecomare”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

we had an awesome day at Ecomare :)
there is a museum there where you really learn mnore about what kind of animals live in the North Sea.
They also have an aquarium where you can see what kind of animals live in the North Sea.
Really awesome

After that we went outside where they were feeding the seals.
the man was feeding the seals also tells a story about the animals there and he DEF knows what he was talking about. It was really nice and interesting.
after the feeding we had coffee n cake in the restaurant.
it really was an AWESOME day :)

“A Whale's Retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

This is a beautiful place that has as a main activity hospitality to whales and other sea-life. It is an open air-museum, a sanctuary, an activity park. Quiet place that raises your awareness.

“ecomare ... a must visit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

This place is interesting for visiting with kids.
Look on the timetable when they give food to the animals.
Feeding the animals is a pedagogical show ... they tell a lot about the seadogs.

The musem is ok.

No special prices for families ... this mean it's rather expensive for large families.

“Beautiful place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

A very pleasant and relaxing way to spend a day in the middle of nature. It is really impressive, educative and there are also a couple of attraction suitable for children, starting from the animals themselves which are very friendly. They are nursing injured seals and hosting them which is really cool.
There is also a restaurant. Outside the actual building you enter directly the dune area which is absolutely superb!
The ~20 minutes boat trip(from Den Helder), to get on Texel Island also offers a beautiful view. It is important to get the bus that takes you to Ecomare right after you go off the boat as it only rides once every hour or so, during the weekend, at least.
