“Good hotel spoilt by street noise”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2014

Stayed here after arriving by train. Good location. Room comfortable and food in the downstairs bar was good.
Sleeping posed a problem since this was a room at the front of the building. The single glazed windows did nothing to prevent the noise from the square at 3am from returning revellers nor at 5am when the local glass recycling was being carried out.

Room Tip: Avoid the front of the hotel if you want to sleep.

I stayed in a single room here in April 2014 as part of a group. The room was fairly lousy, actually ... the carpet, which was extremely old and thin, was not particularly clean. Bed a little worse than average, and linens sub-par. Artwork and decor in the room was tasteless and horrendous.

What's good about this hotel is the location and the restaurant. It's right in a pedestrian zone ... very safe, near a mall, with several dining choices all around. I ate at the hotel and it was delicious.

Also, front desk staff was lovely, as was the staff in the breakfast room.

Rooms definitely sub-par, though.

Its a good option for moderate budget travel and if you are going to return to the hotel only for sleeping..

Location:
The hotel is located bang at the city center. You can get to the train & bus station within 5 mins by walk. You can access multiple malls, shops & restaurants in 2-5 mins walk. Very convenient location.

Property
It's an old hotel, so decor is old fashioned. Also the fittings, lift, carpet is very old. Sometimes the lift doesnt work.

Rooms
My room was market square facing. The view was nice, although at night you have to close the blinds & curtains tightly to avoid the neon glare to come inside the room. Room was clean & spacious enough for 1 person.

Food
Had only breakfasts here.. Limited options. For vegetarian people even more limited.
If you walk around the hotel, there are many restaurants serving Italian, Mexican, Indian, Turkish food.

Places nearby

as I said, station, bus stop & main depot are at walkable distance. Apart from malls & restaurants, there is a cathedral very close by.

I stayed here for one night in a single room on the top floor. The staff is very helpful, checkout time is 12 and i arrived at 10 and they really did their best to get my room available asap. The room was small and everything was clean. There were no additions like water cooker or mini bar (there would also have been no space for this). Prices were exclusive breakfast. The location is great, very close to central station and at the main square. In all, good experience.

I spent a night in a single room at the Crown Inn. The location is good and the room was clean and reasonably spacious for a single, but the hotel very much had the feel of a two rather than three star. The decor was very traditional, the bathroom fittings seemed out of the 1970s, and my room had the worst 'art' on the walls that i have ever seen in a hotel. Overall, I found the cost (over 80 euros for a night without breakfast) to be on the steep side.

I had an unforgettable stay there.
For many reasons: first there was a problem with my first room.
I was promptly given a bigger and better one, free upgrade, no hassle.
I asked whether they had an iron: they brought everything to my door.
Midnight the neighbours started drilling! - I was given another room in a quiet part of the hotel.
The staff really went out of their way to see to me, and this was very much appreciated.
The hotel quality itself is average to ok with some rooms even facing inwards to a grim atrium.
But their central location and outstanding staff made it a very good choice (after all) for my business trip.

Room Tip: Most 1st floor rooms are facing the indoor atrium space (rather depressing). Make sure to ask for an...

Good location, nice rooms especially if faced on the square. Unfortunately the bath was not opportunely illuminated and the tv didn't work. The personnel is polite and helpful even if they only suggest the first floor restaurant.
