We had visited Amsterdam many times before, and decided to see more of the Netherlands on this occasion. We opted for Eindhoven. It is a very small, quiet city and has nothing like the buzz and bustle of Amsterdam - which is a good thing sometimes.
This hotel is right in the centre of the city, it is about 10 minutes walk to the main area - which from my gathering was the large shopping area and Bar street (The stratumseind) which are located around the train station.
it has an indoor pool, sauna's and fitness facilities including a small gym.
the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
The room was amazing. it was clean, quite large and had everything you would need, including a balcony with a view of the road outside - which was quiet, so no problems sleeping.
the bar at reception is nice for a quiet and quick drink, or would be perfect to relax in - quietly, but as it is a hotel which caters mostly for business people, it was slightly off-putting to drink there as tourists, but no harm, as there are many bars and restaurants which cater for this.
The hotel is around the corner from the Stratumseind (the bar street), so it was handy for making Eindhoven a bit more tourist-friendly (in terms of having fun at least).
apart from the stratumseind, there is not much to do in Eindhoven, so beware if you are looking for the madness that people go to Amsterdam for. it is a totally different town. The coffee-shops will not sell to tourists either in Eindhoven, so make a note of that also if you are travelling to this part of holland to sample it's green goods.
apart from that, the hotel was fantastic, and if i ever find myself back in Eindhoven again i would happily stay in this hotel.
