“Still a viable budget option (cash required on arrival)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2014

I stayed here five years ago and revisited this month for one night. The rooms are still very basic but the TVs are now flat-screen and the bedclothes have been updated. The en suites are wet rooms so you have to be careful when you shower. Also, those of you who can't cope with steep narrow stairs might want to look elsewhere. However, for the price, you can't really complain as most other Eindhoven hotels charge higher prices and don't include breakfast. It's on the northern ringroad about a 15-minute walk up Kruisstraat from the central station and is ideal for visitors to the technical university campus. They have free parking at the front of the hotel and bars you can chain your bike to.

The welcome was very warm (it's family-run), more like a B&B really. One thing I will add to the other reviews is the hotel only accepts cash payment on arrival (which the English version of the website didn't make clear) so make sure you have it. If you don't there are cash machines in the nearby Woenselse Markt. I assume they do this to keep costs down (probably also the reason you won't find this place on booking websites).

My only gripe would be the strength of the Wi-Fi signal. We were on the second floor and neither of the two networks would stay connected. It worked on the landing but was still slow. If you were here on business you wouldn't find it acceptable.

The breakfast is really good. The usual continental offering of cold cuts, cheese, bread, cereal etc. They cook you eggs and bacon to order (and it's worth noting that one portion is enough for two!).

All in all, it's fantastic value if you're not hung up on staying right in the city centre. It's away from all the bars so the area is reasonably quiet although the ring road can be quite noisy during the day.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back (away from the road) are quieter.

I would recommend this hotel any day. There is now stable WIFI signal as far up as the second floor where I stayed (did not try the third floor). The staff are friendly, and as it is a family run business, it feels more homely. After being unable to locate the hotel at first, they volunteered to pick me up from where I was and took me to the hotel (which was'nt far away, but it's the thought that counts). the rooms are modern and very good value for money. Breakfast is good as well. Even though it's not bang in the middle of the city centre, the 10-15 minute walk to the station and city centre is through a street that is packed with a variety of shops. This makes the walk interesting and more pleasurable than exhausting. Overall it is a great choice.

This is a quirky, family-run located on the north of the Eindhoven ring road. The location is okay, as it's very close to the Woenselse market and about 15 minutes' walk away from Eindhoven station and town centre. The family who run it are very welcoming and friendly.

The rooms are basic: beds, chair, desk, wardrobe and TV but comfortable. Internet is not available and there is no phone in the room. My room was an odd one, as there was no door between the bedroom and the shower room. They showed me around a couple of the rooms beforehand so I can verify that this is not the case for all the rooms here. The lack of shower curtain was irritating, though.

The breakfast is included in the price and is a standard continental spread, with cold cuts, cereals, yoghurt, fruit etc. Tea and coffee are provided on request, as are bacon and eggs (their speciality). The breakfast room is directly linked to the kitchen so you really feel like part of the family.

I would certainly recommend this hotel for the budget-conscious among you, although if you're staying in Eindhoven for a short break and want more luxuries, you would be better off staying nearer the centre.
