“Nice way to see the city from another point of view”

This cruise takes you through and under the old city of Den Bosch and is unique. It takes you through tunnels and the tour is guided with great information along the ride.

“Not too miss when visiting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

When visiting Den Bosch, this is one of the attractions not to be missed.

The Binnen Dieze is part of the old canals through the city of Den Bosch. In the past, water flowed in through the city walls and exited the city on the other side, This water was vital for the survival of the city in the past centuries. Amoung other things, it served as a transport means for all traders inside the city and provided fresh drinking water (how ever clean it was).

Untill the end of the seventies, it even still functioned as the cities sewer system. But due to environmental laws (thank God), a modern underground sewer system was installed and the old canals now only function for the control of the ground water levels and as a touristic attraction.

The canal tours are organized by the tourist office, but are run by elderly volunteers. All boats are powered by silent electric motors. The tour gives a view on the city from a totally different perspective, one that one never woud have expected to exist.

Definitely a must do!!

“Relaxing way to spend an hour in this lovely City”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

The cost of this boat trip is around Eur 7 for an adult and lasts about an hour.

The guide is all in Dutch (fair enough, considering this is Holland!), but you can get a written guide in English.

The trip takes you at a sedate pace around the various canals of the city and under the city itself. The construction is fascinating and gives you a unique insight into the development and life of the city.

“Another view of Den Bosch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

We took the historic route for 7 euros each. The captain was extremely knowledgeable about the history and the canals of the city. This is the best boat trip I ever took so far. The trip lasts about 50 minutes and includes navigation through narrow waterways. The boats are electric so the noise and other pollution is minimal.
