“bit tired”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

Stayed one night for business. Had a single room and that's what it was. Single bed in the corner, old wardrobe in another with the tv hidden in it. Old wooden desk, and that was about it. Hotel is old fashioned and while that works for the restaurant, the tiredness of the rooms and corridors doesn't work.

Food was good, though breakfast a bit sparse, and staff were friendly and helpful. Feee wifi around the hotel worked well, including outside areas. Parking limited at the hotel, though plenty on street and across the road in car park for woodland area which seems good for walking and running.

Seems a popular restaurant, and I would recommend it for that, but not as an hotel.

Stayed here for one night.

There was a party on in the hotel so I expected the worst - but it wasn't a problem.

Room: Had booked a single, and got a single. Very small single bed and small room - but thats what I booked so no complaints there! Room was old though, nothing wrong with it - but old and worn. TV was a tiny portable TV that I could hardly hear - annoying.

Noise: Each time someone opened their door in the hallway it sounded very close. There was a low pitch vibrating noise coming from somewhere for about half an hour during the night that kept me awake.

Food: restaurant was great - really nice atmosphere. Evening meal was really nice - very well presented, tasty and big - more than we could eat. Service was mostly brilliant - however everyone seemed to disappear towards the end of the meal and we had to go find them.
Breakfast was average for this type of hotel in Holland - nice bacon.

Parking: Wasn't clear where to park.

Stayed one night for business in this hotel because it was the only one in Breda available for that night closeby my meeting the day after. Arriving with my car it was not clear where to park because there were cars everywhere. Decided to call the hotel which did not help a lot, girl on the phone let me know that she received more of these calls that night and tht the parking was full. Where to park, well find out yourself.
Arrived pretty late so went to bed directly. Room is big but oldfashioned.
Breakfast very basic, asking for some yoghurt I was told sorry the milkman did not bring it.

We had to sleep over and this was the clothes hotel in the neighborhood. The room great and big. And the beds are long. What is great for my length.
The restaurant had a great old style, I like the fan on the ceiling the most. The restaurant has a autumn/winter menu.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Hotel is a bit dated but charming nonetheless. There is a forest with walks and horse riding right across from the hotel. Service was friendly and efficient and the food was good. The bar area is shared with the main restaurant so if you want a quiet drink use the function room with the open log fire. It's a €12-€15 taxi ride to the centre of Breda where all the night life & bars are. Would make an excellent base for a walking/cycling holiday.

Lovely setting right by the Mastbos woods, great for cycling, walking, jogging. A little far out of the city centre to walk in the evening. My room was a bit dated but comfortable enough, bathroom was newly refurbished and very nice. A big drawback was that the room had large windows facing the afternoon sun so was very hot on arrival late in the evening. The room overlooked the courtyard where people were eating drinking talking till very late so sleep was difficult. Despite all that I would try this hotel again as the food, service and location is very good.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms overlooking the courtyard in the summer.
