This is a good small hotel right next to the central train station and bus stop. It also has parking available for those with cars. The rooms are fairly decent size for a European hotel. Though it is next to the train station, the rooms are very well soundproofed and the noise is minimal. The property is about a 3 block walk from Valkenberg (Breda's main park and also the location of the Dutch military acadamy). The Grote Markt (central marketplace) and downtonw area is just on the other side of Valkenberg. The VVV (Dutch tourism office) is about a block from the hotel. The breakfast buffet is ample and offers a good selection. It is a bit expensive for my tastes at approximately 14 Euros, but not out of line with what you would pay at other hotels.
However, there is a sandwich shop which has a good selection of sandwiches on fresh buns at a very reasonable price at the train station. You will also find a pastry shop, a snack stand a candy store and a small grocery store at the train station and there is a supermarket on the other side of the tracks that can be reached by using the tunnel at the station. For those that just have to have their American food, the station also has a Burger King (be advised, they charge extra for condiments such as catsup in Holland). There are also couple of Dutch restaurants nearby and a bank with an ATM across from the train station. The hotel has historical signifcance for Breda, as it used to be the main post office. I found the staff to be very friendly and accomodating and would definately stay there again.
