“Great Location, and lovely people .. But you should be "fit" to stay there”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2013

I stayed here for two nights while on business. It's not a business hotel, and WiFi struggles to get to the top floor ....

The rooms are smallish but clean and the beds comfortable. The elevator only reaches the 2nd floor, and I was on the top floor with heavy bags. The only issue with his is the very narrow and steep steps.

Anyway, as long as neither wifi or steep steps bother you (or the local location to the church and it's strange-but-beautiful regular LOUD chimes) then the place is great.

The staff are wonderful. The food is pretty good, but it's in the middle of town so the choice for other food is excellent. Service can be sedate, but most things are laid back in NL.

I will certainly return. Breda is a beautiful city, and De Klok has loads going for it.

Room Tip: Quieter rooms to the back of the hotel I believe, but the you miss out people watching at the front!

No this isn't the Ritz Carlton but it is a great place to stay in Breda! Location is unbelievable! Right in the middle of everything!

It's an older hotel, but very clean. Beds are singles but super comfy. Service was fantastic. Charming little hotel!

I read the other reviews and its so much better! It's probably the best hotel to stay in if you are staying in Breda and want to experience the hustle and bustle!

And was much cheaper than the hotels in Amsterdam. Highly recommend!

I rated it compared to other hotels of the same caliber. Not compared to a Renaissance in a large city.

Stayed here on business for a couple of nights. Was upgraded to a family room which was very big with a good view of the street. Was right by all the bars and restaurants. However the Tuesday market started setting up at 4am which kept me awake for a bit. The next night was much better. The bathroom was a bit smelly, think it was the drains. Breakfast was ok.

Hotels in Breda are expensive but that still doesn't mean that this hotel was worth 80 euros a night.

Location is central, staff are very friendly and food in the restaurant is excellent.

Room is VERY BASIC - furniture from a skip, no tea/coffee making facilities, no real lock on the door and no bathroom heat and it was February. The lock business really worried me as without a deadlock or chain anyone could have walked in and I was traveling alone. There is not enough light in the room to read anything either so bring a torch.

Breakfast is fine but the lighting was so low in the restaurant that they had to add more candles to the buffet so you could see what it was. Or you could use your torch.

I travel a lot and am not too fussy but this was low end room and not worth the money.

Room Tip: Take a torch then you will be able to read and eat your breakfast.

I stayed in this hotel in October 2012 it is very central and you have everything on your doorstep it can be noisy at 4AM when they set up the market several day a week. There is no parking at the hotel and you have to walk approximately 250m with your bags to get there. The rooms as very basic and could do with some money spending on them, Overall the hotel is value for money and in a great location but can be very noisy.

Room Tip: Try to get a room at the back of the hotel it is very noisy when they set up the market at 4AM

This hotel is set in a fantastic location in the old town, everything within walking distance. Its about 10 minutes walking from the train station. We stayed at the de klok hotel for one night in late august, we where on the first floor in room 4. It was a good size, big for Europe, basic but clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a good size also with a shower over the bath. The hotel has the smallest lift I've ever seen - very funny trying to get people and suitcases jammed in! The food at the hotel isn't great, but there are many cafes to try out. Overall it's worth staying there as it isn't too expensive and the location is great.

Fantastic location bang on the central market, and it was actually cheaper than hotels outside of centre. Parking garage was near enough, would have been nice if hotel validated parking, but won't nag about it. Room was functional but very basic, with single beds, separated by a nightstand! one of the beds actually had a plastic mattress protector that squeeked and groaned throughout the night.
central heating wasnt working properly, only half of it warmed up and with snow outside it was very cold in room too. bathroom very basic but excellent water pressure and HOT water too.
Downstairs a lovely grand cafe/restaurant great for cosy drink. Breakfast buffet in the morning was satisfactory. Wifi in hotel but didnt reach our room in top floor.
Staff very friendly and accommodating.
If you are going to Breda for shopping/going out it is a very good place to stay in, but ask about the bedding arrangements when you book!
