A very small hotel with just a few rooms, really more of a B&B. The thing that stands out most is the personal touch that the owner/proprietor, Nicole, provides. She sent emails before our arrival confirming our reservations and offering directions on how to find the hotel. When we arrived she sat us down at her dining table and gave us an orientation to Maastricht and its attractions, including a list of the better restaurants.
The other thing it has going for it is its location. From the train station you simply walk two blocks straight away and one block to the left and there you are. Nicole advised us there was a bike rental shop at the station and with the bikes we were able to see all of Maastricht proper in a very short time.
Our room, the "Charmant" was reasonably large, airy and had a nice view of a garden area and trees. There was a fresh bouquet of roses and a bowl of fruit waiting for us. In the morning Nicole delivered a huge breakfast to our door. Our room had an automatic espresso and tea machine as well as a micro-fridge. This was quietest hotel we stayed at during this trip which made for a good night's sleep.
