“Wonderful hotel on a quiet street, great location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2009

We recently stayed at this hotel on our first trip to Maastricht. It's a charming and historic hotel on a small/quiet cobblestone street about a 5 min walk to the main squares.
We were greeted by the owner upon arrival and received personalized attention throughout our two night stay. Our room was on the top floor, and felt more like a spacious studio apartment than a hotel room. A small dining table and sitting area in the room made it feel large with wood floors, and wood beams. There are two excellent restaurants within a block or two. We can't wait to visit again!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2008

I have stayed at this hotel several different times on business trips to Maastricht, and will continue to stay there in the future. It is a small hotel with 6 or 7 rooms. The rooms are very large by European and American standards. They are clean and well kept. They are not "fancy", but are certainly nice and comfortable - I am used to staying in 4 and 5 star hotels and did not have a problem with these rooms. The hotel does not have a lift, so some stair climbing is involved up a narrow winding staircase. This could be dfficult for disabled or elderly. Last time I stayed the owner apologized that he had to put me in the top room. I loved it! Although the stairs were not easy with a full bag, I had a view of the rooftops and churches of Maastricht. It is located in the old Latin quarter, and is right next to an original Roman wall. Just a couple of blocks from the main town square, and within walking distance of the best parts of Maastricht.

The hotel itself is a former abby from the middle ages. The owners have taken care when restoring it, so you still see the original exposed beams, arched vaulted ceilings, and brickwork. There is also a nice courtyard in the middle of the hotel that you can enjoy breakfast in on nice days.

Breakfast is very nice but not extravagant. Cold meats, fresh-baked bread, nice cheeses, fruit, cereals, boiled eggs, coffee, tea, etc. It is a bit expensive, but if you can get it included in the price of the room it is an added bonus.

The owners are very friendly and speak moderate English. They worked hard to create a nice atmosphere. The free WiFi was a nice touch. I can't recommend this place enough. Price is reasonable - I have paid 150 and 90 Euros on recent stays.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Dis. It's located on a quiet street, above an art gallery, which was fun. Our room was modern, spacious and clean. The lovely buffet breakfast is served in a beautiful old chapel, and the owners and friendly and super cool. Reasonably priced for Maastricht.
