We stayed at a Novotel because we had used the chain before and it is a known quantity. The hotel itself is very modern and offers internet connections in the lobby free if you have your laptop. otherwise they have a computer for which they charge. we opted for the internet no change no refund special, which had problems because we didn't make it there for the full 3 nights, just 2, so we paid for 3 anyway. the internet special did include breakfast and when we had to leave early on the last day, they were kind enough to allow us in early to eat. our unit was nice, but the A/C didn't work. we didn't find this out until late the last night so l don't know if they would have fixed it. the hotel was full so the only room open was a smoling. we opted to leave the window open for cool air. that was very noisy; however, we never travel without earplugs, and they did the job. they have a free shuttle to town if you make a reservation, but not back from town.
the town is delightful, very clean and quaint. LOTS of shopping in trendy stores. lots of restaurants. really a neat town. we rented bikes at the train station for $10/dy, the only bargain we found in europe the whole trip! l would stay there again.

Stayed here for five nights in mid February. The hotel is not central to Maastricht but is convenient for the Exhibition and Conference Centre. The hotel makes up for its location by providing a shuttle service to the town centre and the conference facilities. The shuttle does have a timetable but we found that they will in fact take you anywhere anytime. Return trips from the town centre benefit from a cut price taxi service on production of the Novotel voucher.
The hotel is well appointed and very comfortable. Public areas are spacious and the restaurant facilities are good with a varied and well thought out dinner menu. Food is available in the bar throughout the day. My bedroom was large with bathroom and toilet in two further rooms. It was clean and pleasantly decorated. A queen size bed and sofa were good points from which to view the forty five channels of TV available in various languages. As is often the case staff make or break a hotel and in this case they could not, withoput exception, be faulted. They achieved exactly the right balance between friendliness and professionalism. Although it was the conference season we got a very good rate by dealing direct withy the hotel. This is the first review for this hotel - I don't understand why it has not featured before - I recommend it.
