Everything seemed so difficult for the staff to do. Might have been a colour thing but felt this was shocking in 2012 !!!!!! So a little backward in that regard. Also we were denied room service after travelling back to the hotel from a long trip exploring - they had said in the brochure it was 24 hour room service so we took it for granted we could order food but that was not so again it was too difficult so the staff felt they could not be bothered. This should be rated 3 star really did not see anything that warranted a 4 star especially after staying at a 4 star across the border in Belgium. On the plus side the breakfast was good but it runs out so you have to get downstairs quickly, also there are games in the lobby for the children and an outdoor swimming pool... This was closed for the winter

I stay here every ten weeks or so and find it to be one of the most pleasant Novotels in the chain. Everything is spotless and the staff Speke impeccable English. Even the restaurant is good when you consider it is the Accor standard fare.

Overall the 1 night in Maastricht Novotel was a good experience. The rooms seems a little tired but generally good. Checking and out was fast and staff was professional. Breakfast was very good and probably the best part about the stay. A good hotel for 1 or 2 overnights and access is generally good despite the major road work going on in the general area. They could provide some signs to help getting to the hotel due to the road work surrounding the hotel. If I didn't not have a GPS it could have been a bit tricky.

The hotel seems a bit outdated, especially the hallways. But the rooms are up-to-date with modern furnishing and nice clean bathroom. A bit annoying that the toilet is separated from the bathroom (I know it is common in some countries). The reception and restaurant was nice and reasonable in price. The breakfast buffet was huge and fresh. Parking facility and location to the city was good. They offer shuttle to the center, but it is never avaible.
All in All a good experience and I would definitely stay here another time.
