Learnt a lot on the whole war episode. Well worth a visit, and the stories about individual solders was very good. Made it very personal.

“Must visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

This is a superbly presented experience that really brings to life Operation Market Garden.
The videos and displays of information are compelling as are the collections of weapons, uniforms, medals and other memorabilia.
There are also lifesize recreations of battle scenes that really make you "see" what the horror of war was like.
At about 8 euros fir an adult it is great value
Also visit the beautifully tended cemetary

“Really Good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

I had a look at this museum on a Sunday from memory and found it to be one of the best collections of WW2 material i have ever seen, The reconstructions of a British safe house that you sort of look through a hole in a broken brick wall and can see a medic working on a casualty , it is done in a way to make you feel like you are looking in as it's happening, very well done, you can walk through a war torn street and all the ambience of sounds effects going put you right in the mood of what is going on. The only thing you cant do is a change a $100 Euro there.

“Enthusiasts will love poking around this storehouse of memorabilia.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013

To find it ask sat nav for Schaarsbergen, the museum is in the former village school just outside town.

It starts well with neatly labelled (In 3 languages) cases of weapons but soon the labels run out as there is so much stuff crammed into a relatively small space over two floors. There are excellent set-piece displays and helpful staff. ( Although one opened the conversation by telling me how British troops relieving Arnhem raped the local girls!) You should find enough real gems to make a visit well worth while.

This is a private venture by a group of enthusiasts and receives no state or council funding so I put my small change in their collecting box. Every little helps.
