“Nice city hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2014

I stayed here during a business trip.

Room was rather small, but I did not mind. Room was clean, but could use a layer of paint. Breakfast was excellent with fresh juice.
I also dined in the brasserie in the evening, no complaints. Only the beer was too expensive.

Good price - value

No parking spot offered by the hotel was a downside.

We had 2 rooms ... 1 single room for my mom
and 1 double room for us...

A nice hotel / nice staff
A BIG + ... its across the bus & train station
and across the city centre of Arnhem !!!

Over all a very nice hotel !

Just 2 little pointers:

1 ...
The next morning when I woke up, the wall was really dirty ... With foot prints on the wall and other stuff ...
We didnt see this when we came in ... ( We had to rush ... So when we came in to the room, 234, we put our lugguage down and left ... )

2 ...
the breakfast was not complete ... We had to ask 3 times for: is there cheese, are there any scrambled eggs and is there any bread besides just the croissants at that moment ... Oh and some clean glasses for orange juice...
The hotel, so it seemed was quite occupied ... So they knew how many quests there were coming ... But we saw only 2 employees working in the breakfast area ...
And mainly 1 person was doing almost everything ... We noticed he was a little stressed .... Poor guy cause he tried ... (He had the clean tables for other quests down ...) even with 1 extra person and you could have had a better breakfast service / experience ...

It seems lately, in our hotel experience over the last view years ...hotels are budgeting on staff ...
While the occupancy of guests is high ...
Just get some extra staff ( even 1 or 2 extra ) for those days ...( there are enough people who would love to work ...)

Then you have a smoother experience for everyone ...
More HAPPY staff and more HAPPY customers ...

This hotel is nothing flash but more than adequate. Located centrally near the social spots and opposite the station. Staff are friendly and the room was a good size. We were able to leave our motorbikes in the car park at the back, free of charge. There is a cost for cars and spaces are limited.

Have stayed twice in the past few months. Much of the hotel is now renovated and there's a whole new block with new, high-spec rooms which I haven't yet tried. The most recent trip was in a pretty basic room that wasn't really 4-star standard -- roughly done refurbishment, electrical socket that wasn't attached properly and bathroom not as clean as it could be -- yet was apparently a 'comfort', ie. mid-range, category. The previous stay was better, with room in much better condition and more spacious. Breakfast reasonable; evening meal a little iffy, but not bad value. So if you do stay here, suggest call reception in advance to find out what the categories actually mean and pinning them down: not having booked in advance on the most recent visit, it felt I was in a 'basic' room at a 'comfort' room rate.... although reception said that the 'comfort' was actually about a two person room for single occupancy. And be aware that the 'basic' single rooms really are tiny, and not quite what you expect in a BW Plus. My experience is that there are better hotels in the area (NH, Holiday Inn Express), but the draw is that this one is 100m from the station and has good prices.

A convenient location and acceptable prices for the region makes it a good option for business and perhaps a trip with friends. Staff is friendly but unhelpful. Beds are old and the servicing to the rooms is lacking. Had to make my own bed for one of the nights and ask for towels since there were none in the (minuscule) room. Despite that, 3 Points for the convenient location and breakfast. If you happen to have the bad luck of drunk people talking loudly in the corridor in teh middle of the night, don't count on the walls being thick enough to ensure you stay asleep.

Stayed for 3 nights.Reception very professional and efficient. Room was a single on third floor. Although there is a small lift there are still stairs to climb. Room was small but adequate, small bathroom included shower/toilet. Room was quiet as it overlooked local housing and a small parking area for hotel guests. Bed was a single - a little too small - but otherwise comfortable. Tea/coffee was free in your room .It also had a personal safe which proved useful. TV had plenty of local and international channels. Breakfast was buffet style with fresh orange juice, local cheese/salads and a variety of hot foods,(bacon eggs etc). Reasonable for the price of 15euro's. There is a restaurant and bar. Although I did not sample either, the food in the restaurant seemed expensive e22.50 + e7.50(delivery) if you had steak + fries in your room. Fresh towels/toiletries daily and rooms were cleaned well.Wi-fi was free and reception was reasonable. Overall a good experience.Would stay again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not overlooking main road if you want a quiet night.

Stayed for a couple of days at this hotel. The room was very comfortable with a good choice of pillows. The location of the hotel is excellent, right opposite the train station which was handy as it was raining heavily when we got to Arnhem and only had to run across the road. Didn't use the restaurant facilities but can recommend La Cubanita Tapas for tea. The hotel is conveniently located for visiting the Arnhem bridge and museum and also for catching the tram to Oosterbeek. Would definitely stay here again as it was great value for money.
