“One night at Apollo Hotel Lelystad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

Hotel close to the main station, friendly staff, good breakfast, restaurant open until 10pm but possibilities to have tapas until midnight. Simple rooms (decoration could be better) but quiet. Bathtube in the bathroom.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

I stayed here in the summer for a few days. The room was quite hot, with no air conditioning. Modern flat screen TV, good quality internet and breakfast, and a comfortable bed. However, everything looked slightly outdated. The staff was very friendly. Unfortunately there were no tea/coffee facilities in the room (or at least I did not find them). The hotel served my purpose (business trip) very well and I would return here if on business, but I would not book this for a holiday.

To call this Hotel 4 Star is a joke. It is the only hotel in the world I have stayed in where there was no tea and Coffee facilities in the Room. The room was badly lit .Although the bed was comfortable I booked a double and got two single beds shoved up together. The bathroom was OK and the Shower worked fine. The meal service was non existant. Dinner was a help yourself buffet style and the food was just about OK .

Room Tip: Apparently there is Tea and Coffe available in your room if you book a Suite

Very poor hotel considering it claims to be a 4 star place.
Room was freezing cold when we arrived and it took approx. 1,5 hours to get it up to a reasonable temperature. The balcony that was with the suite was small, and made even smaller by the generator that was placed there and which ran 24 hours a day.
Hotel restaurant food was poor.
Shower temperature could not be changed as the tap was broken.

Room Tip: Book elsewhere!

Probably the best of the available choices of hotels in Lelystad. An unusual and modern design with helpful friendly staff and in a good residential location close to the city centre. The rooms have plenty of space. The decor and furnishings are minimalist with bare white painted brick walls and a single art feature above the bed head. No minibar or enclosed wardrobe was in the room. Hand soap, shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom are from hand dispensors but are good quality Dove products, all other toileteries are provided. The service was very good. Even had a call from reception a few minutes after checking in to confirm that everything was to my satisfaction. The free wi-fi service was fast and reliable. No need to keep entering id or pw. There's a good tapas bar on the first floor where breakfast is also served, a very good steak house attached next door to the hotel on one side and a chinese restaurant was being built / refurbished on the otherside with entrance form inside the hotel. All in all very pleasant stay.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

I stayed for a weekend break at the Apollo Lelystad CC. The location of the hotel for those on foot is great in regards to the railway station, about 10 minutes walk west through a shopping precinct.
The hotel staff are very polite, helpful and fluent in English. The hotel itself is a typical mutli-chain hotel building from the outside and doesn't have its own parking. There is a pay and display car-park opposite.
Inside the lobby is cosy, there is a tapas type restaurant/bar on the same floor but I didn't use it as I was so attracted by the char-grill smell of the steak-house next door, which proved a brilliant choice for my evening meal.
The hotel bar was a nice enough place, but without any character and bar service is slow as the staff are attending private function rooms as well.
The breakfast was good, I was pleased that I could have (continental) bacon, scrambled egg, fruit selection and a decent cup of tea.
My room was clean, bright and airy, the bathroom was well appointed with face towels, shower cream and shampoo along with the usual complement of towels and a hair dryer.
My room had no refreshment facilities such as a kettle with tea and coffee, I made do with the bottle of water I had with me. It had a fridge if you just happen to have your own beverages. It also had a handy safe build into the wardrobe .
If you are staying on a Friday night, in an odd-numbered room, be prepared to be woken about 5.30am on Saturday, especially if you have your outside door/window open as they start chucking around scaffold poles and planks when building the weekly market in the square. This is not the hotels fault but does figure in the results of this review.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this are.
