Let´s be straight. This is a bar and not a restaurant - the Brasserie Lipp is just downstairs. But it has - to my mind - one of the finest views across Zurich that you could wish for, better than the Uniturm, which you can get to only if you´re a member of the university or their guest, or Clouds, that requires financial clout.
Instead, we find a tiny little round bar with small tables all facing out onto the town. Choose one from which to look out over the lake and (if you´re lucky) the Alps, and perhaps choose a time early in the evening before things get too crowded and they turn up the music. Prices are not cheap, but for once, they´re probably justified.
For guests who don´t know Zurich this might be a surprise, and for those who do, it´s a fresh perspective on this little city.
