We booked to stay here as we had been before and found that although the hotel is quite far out, the excellent tram connections mean that this was not a problem.
However, one of the main reasons we returned was as we wanted to enjoy the pool and leisure facilities and to our amazement when we arrived they had gone, replaced with just a fitness centre - no steam room, spa pool or sauna even!
The hotel continues to charge an extortionate rate for Wifi access, come on guys this is not acceptable in 2012 - nearly everywhere offers this service for free now!
Similarly the breakfast price was a rip off, and having read the reviews, we decided to skip it and head into town for food at a sensible price (well as sensible as Zurich can be!)
The rooms are very spacious if a little dated, and the beds are big and comfortable. The mini-bar had only one bottle of mineral water in it - but the fridge was very handy to keep our purchases from Aldi across the street fresh inside, so that was very welcome.
We managed to snap up our room on lastminute.com and therefore paid a very good rate - which meant we could almost forgive them for the loss of the facilities. However, I would not pay full price now they have got rid of their pool and leisure facilities.
A tip is that the hotel reception staff can sell you tickets for the tram/ bus / train system which is great value and an easy way to get around the city. They will also help you with maps and directions, and were very friendly.
