We had a perfect stay. Hotek is prefectly located near city center n a veru quite location. Very good attention and service. Nice restaurant. Is a perfect boutique hotel. Very nice suites, new furniture, nice decoration. No doubt to stay there if you want a quiet and well located hotel.

This was our 2nd time staying at the Alden in Zurich - we love this hotel! It is located in a relatively quiet section of the town, yet close to the Bahnhofstrasse area and the lake. The suites are generous and nicely decorated. We opted to take our breakfast in our room - it was excellent and arrived on time; we also love the 24hr room service. The Alden has a great staff, always helpful, friendly and upbeat - most of the people we recognized from our first stay. We will be back in Zurich, and are looking forward to staying at the Alden again.

I stayed three nights around easter 1013. Alden is a good hotel in Zurich, location is near the city center, the palace is very elegant, the suites are well furnished, spacious and confortabile. They're very gentle. Anyway, the Ensemble don't deserve such a classification (5 star), it looks like a boutique hotel, than a complex 5 star hotel: the difference is easily visible. Breakfast is not exactly you can expect in a five star hotel.

After spending two weeks skiing in the Austrian Alps we took two days to wind down before traveling back to the U.S. We choose this hotel because it appeared to be a good value for the size of the rooms for a 5 star hotel. We were not disappointed. The location is unusual, on the far side of downtown (further from the airport) towards the corporate HQ's of many banks. Most of the tourist hotels are near the BahnHof or on the Airport side of downtown or by the Opera house. This was fine for us, but it meant that we had a 15-20 minute walk to most destinations. This is not a walk out the door and be in the middle of everything. We preferred the location, especially after spending a week in St. Anton in a Hotel over a disco.

So - the rooms are LARGE. 75 sq meters, the size of a small apartment. The bathroom was huge, with jacuzzi style tub and separate shower. This would be a great place to spend a week if you had to spend that much time in Zurich, it was like visiting a friends house.

We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant each day, including eggs prepared to order. We did not use the room service or dinner options at the hotel so I cannot speak to this, but there is a comprehensive room service menu from the hotel kitchen.

We would definitely stay there again for work or holiday.

I stayed one night at Alden as part of a business trip this feb '13: it's a boutique hotel which means more attentive service. Rooms are huge by any standard as all have a separate living room with sofa and dining table. Decor is a mix of modern with classic antique pieces of furniture like the "Secretaire Desk". Very good taste.

Hotel is a more two blocks from the lake and its promenade but it was extremely cold for a walk this time: I imagine it must be quite beautiful during spring/summer.

Room Tip: All rooms are basically the same , huge and nicely appointed but ask for higher floors to avoid , li...

Spent week-end at Alden, Choice was made in relation with attractive week-end prices. The hotel seemed very empty which is fine. Reception upon arrival was kind but not at departure. When I requested a 12 noon to postpone check out to 1pm, it was immediately refused and we were called in the room 20 mimutes later to speedup. Not very commercial attitute. Instead to have minimum service during week-ends due to low occupancy, the management should instead provide top service and be flexible in order to have clients coming back. It proves again that low prices have an impact on quality.

We arrived for a 2 night stay just before New Years Eve. The welcome at reception was excellent, we couldn't ask for any better service. Location was peaceful and close to everything. We definitely have a great impression of Switzerland. Dinner was very good. I would recommend some "Main Stream" meals to be available on the menu. Thank You.
