“Clean hotel, close to tram stop”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

Stayed here for 4 nights and would stay again. It's a little out of the city center which is why it's cheaper. Not in a bad neighborhood though and on a busy street with cafes and supermarkets. Even a little fridge in the room with free drinks. Steps away from the tram stop Alsbider-Platz.. Take tram 3 from HB train station. about 15 minute ride. Easy to find. Also the 2 tram runs from the Alsbider-Platz all the way to Lake Zurich where the boats take off for lake cruises.
Was Air conditioned and had free wifi in the room that worked great.
Even a balcony off your room.
Friendly staff and will let you borrow a plug adapter for free.
And will print anything you want for you.
The breakfast was outrageously priced. As is everything in Switzerland. But a Coop (supermarket) is a 2 min walk away so you can buy food and keep it in mini fridge so you don't spend $25/ per person on a meal. Minimum! Switzerland is expensive so be ready!!!
This hotel was a gem.
Would definitely stay here again

Our stay at the Stoller was a pleasant one, the staff very helpful and knowledgeable. The room was clean and well presented. Parking was available for fee, my only criticism was there were stairs to the lift from the reception area, as it was necessary to climb first.

Decent price in Zurich, about 3 km from city center are the only positives. I would not stay here in summer because they turn the AC off at night to probably save money. It was extremely hot and
stuffy in the room at night. The front desk people are decent and try to help though. The toilet bowl was not flushed properly after someone had used it night before.

We stayed one night at Mercure Stoller early July during Zurich festival. Hotel is not difficult to find and reachable from tram from Zurich main station, we had no problem to carry our average sized luggage in trams. We booked a junior suite and it was very spacious and clean. I really liked the bathroom too which was really well equipped. Wifi was free and was with good speed. Staff was very friendly except once when my friend who was travelling with me had something to clarify regarding the payment on his debit card, however it was only comparing with really nice people we met in Switzerland. We did not have breakfast at hotel as we ran to catch a tour to Rhine falls. My room faced the road but was not noisy, had a very good sleep at night. I would recommend travellers to weigh the travel time from-to zurich/cost/ease against the luxury/comfort you get at Mercure Stoller at a cheaper rate. Also, the breakfast is 27CHF, is very expensive. I would stay there if I travel to Zurich again.

I stayed one night at Mercure Stoller in Zurich and I was very pleased with my stay.

Good points:
- Rooms facing backyard have a balcony and are very quiet
- My room was nicely furnished with great amenities (free espresso machine, large flat TV, smaller TV in the bathroom, free mini bar, silent AC)
- Wifi is free and works pretty well

Downsides:
- Breakfast is good, you can enjoy it on the terrace, but it is very expensive (CHF 27)
- Hotel not centrally located, however there are 2 tram stops very close by (#2 and #3 to the main station)
- No tissues in the bathroom

If you are visiting Zurich as a tourist I suggest you take the Zurich Card which offers great deals, including free and unlimited transportation throughout the city.

Room Tip: Rooms facing backyard are quieter

Great second stay in a great hotel. Got given room 103 to start with but after a while I noticed a "clunking" noise and realised I could hear the lift every time it went up and down. Asked the receptionist what the chances were of swapping rooms and this was done without fuss. Complimentary fast free wi-fi and free mini bar which contained a bottle of coke, sprite, still and fizzy water. A good place to stay in Zurich.
