I researched this for days, Zurich is very expensive in general and it seems like it is really hard to get a room that is under 500 dollars a night, the Marriot in zurich is just perfect if you are traveling with kids. OK it is not a super quaint small bed and breakfast type place but it is super clean and new and has wifi, room service etc, etc. It right near the train station so if you want to do any type of day trips it is within walking distance. If you go in the summer Lake Zurich is right out the door and down the stairs, my 13 year old daughter was jumping off the bridge with all the locals, the river then takes you along with its current, don't be intimidated, the people are all nice, not too many tourists here but fun! I got a room on american express travel for under $300 dollars and it included breakfast which is a delicious buffet that kept us full most of the day. Everyone says to get the executive lounge part but the difference when I booked was $200 dollars a day so I didn't think it was worth it. If it is $100 dollars more a day it is definately worth it as a normal meal at a restaurant is about $200. Don't be afraid of the north wing, the rooms are bigger and they were much cheaper, it is a short walk across an enclosed bridge, you will save a lot of money staying in this wing. We had room service which was good but for 2 meals it was $150 dollars. so if you want new, clean, easy access to city, good neighborhood, good for kids (oh ya they had a baby room where toddlers could play) this is a good match for you.
get a room in the north wing, bigger and much cheaper.
