We took 2 rooms for 2 nights. Our review is as follows:-
Firstly, the location - it is a great location . very central, convenient to shopping, restaurants and main train station. From the main train station to the hotel is about 5 to 10 minutes walk, with luggage.
Secondly, the hotel - It is a converted old building. I love the understated elegance. It is not opulent or loud or shiny. You can see that there is a lot of thought put in to restoring the old building. It is a mix of old and new. I love the quiet minimalism with quality furnishings and fixtures. Both our rooms are different in configuration eg) mine has a bathtub whereas the other room had a large shower but no tub. I love the Eames lounge chair, the B&O telly and player. The beds are remote controlled so it can be upright or 45 degrees. There is a telly in the toilet, built into the mirror as a single piece. There is a Nespresso machine in the room which provide unlimited coffee and expresso. Turn down service includes a small fruit by the bedside. Fantastic. Breakfast is of good quality. The staff (especially the young man) at the breakfast area are attentive, pleasant and friendly. The kitchen staff is also obliging with our quirky request like having our bacon grilled very crispy. The concierge is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Everything and everyone worked with Swiss precision.
I would like to make a small suggestion that if the owners do renovate or refurbish the rooms they might like to consider not to have split level floors in the rooms. This is because older/senior guest may trip over the split level floor.
I love this hotel. It is expensive but absolutely worth it.
If you have senior people travelling with you, you may want to consider rooms which have 1 level. Th...
