We ate lunch at Restaurant Viadukt after letting our kids play in the playground right in front of the restaurant. We sat outside and enjoyed the autumn breeze and last sunshine before gray winter.
The bread was good! Crispy outside and moist inside. Risotto and soup from lunch menu were great but salad was just lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber and NOTHING ELSE for 18 francs.
The wait staff was friendly but slow. We waited for our first order for over half an hour. If there had not been a playground in front of the restaurant, our kids would have protested to sit still without anything to drink or eat.
It's located at the corner of Josefwiese, a park filled with green, playground and a soccer field. The walk from the closest bus, tram or train stops is long if you have small children, but it's worth a visit. There are many shops to see and places to buy coffee, snack or food. In summer, kids can play in the water fountain with their bathing suits.
I noticed that Restaurant Viadukt has a clean wheelchair-accessible toilet with diaper changing table. If you don't want to use the public toilets, using the toilet here is worth a cup of coffee.
