I booked this accommodation based on other reviews, however, it transpired that it was located a considerable distance from the train station and arriving late a taxi seemed the best option even though it cost 30CHF. This Aparthotel is probably ideal for the business executive with all expenses covered and no need for any real degree of comfort. It could only be described as sterile atmospherically even though the building itself is ancient. The one room containing bed, shower enclosure and large hand basin with a minute toilet enclosure in one corner had little in the way of comfort to recommend it. Lighting in the room was very poor and there were no toiletries provided other than a sliver of soap. The bed was excellent and bed linens were extremely clean and fresh, however, this is not a B&B - something I had overlooked - and @ 374.40 CHF for two nights was the most expensive accommodation on my recent trip. It was also the only place where I was asked if I wanted to pay in my own currency when settling my account. I said no I wanted to pay in euros and was told that it had to be either CHF or my own currency. I pointed out that I had specifically asked what currency was acceptable prior to booking and was told either CHF or euros. I did not know until I arrived home that I had been charged in CHF instead of euros as I had stipulated and the conversion cost over 12 euros. I was not savvy enough to check this at the time. However, this establishment also charged me 20CHF to do one small load of washing/drying using their laundry facilities - a bit over the top! (By comparison I had a laundry do a much larger wash for me in Rome for 9 euros). I would not book here again if I return to Zurich - definitely not good value for money and not a central location.
