As explained on my hotel review, we were very hungry upon our arrival and the receptionist quickly proposed and booked a table for us at Beau-Rivage.
We were two adults and a child, which opted for a plain pasta with tomato sauce from the kids menu, while we went for a fish (can't remember which, sorry) and a steak tartare. Menu large enough but not excesively large, so good.
The pasta was of god quality and the sauce delicious; the fish lacked a bit of "power" but was really fresh and accompanied by a lovely sauce; the tartare was perfectly seasoned at my taste (I was given a test before).
I honestly believe the fish "power" was just a matter of the dish itself, which was soft and warm, very comfy for winter time, rather than a matter of flavour. Portions were just perfect. I would have loved a small salad on the side to come with the tartare, only regret.
Desserts were very good, we opted for a tiramisu, a chocolate mousse and an apple tart which came with vanilla icecream. All delicious.
We didn't have wine, so cannot comment.
Service was very polite although I felt it a bit slow, or maybe we were too hungry.
Overpriced, maybe, but as everything in Switzerland. They had impressive seafood plate for around 90 CHF, which may be seen as a lot, but I have no doubts about the quality.
The room is beautiful and it was kept at a perfect temperature despite being busy inside and cold outside, great.
All in all, a lovely "brasserie" style restaurant.
