“Excellent service dated bathroom”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2014

Enjoyed a two night stay here at the beginning of August. From the minute you step out of the car the service is excellent. The hotel does look as though it is in the middle of renovating as the entrance, bars, restaurants and in general all downstairs is very modern. It is when you get up into the bedrooms where you can see the age of the hotel. Although spotlessly clean and with every amenity you need (including a free mini bar) the rooms are dated and the bathroom is a total throwback to the eighties complete with mirrored ceiling! All in all though we had a very pleasant stay and as mentioned in other reviews the hotel is very well placed for the metro etc.

Dear jj1068,

It is with a great pleasure that I read your comment,

It is true that some of our room are classic as we have to respect the history of the building and provide classic rooms for guest who prefer those ones.

In the same time we also have contemporary rooms.

We will be glad to see you back in our establishment, and you can ask for a contemporary room.

Kindest regards,

Stayed one night in one of the renovated junior suites. Typical modern "cool," nice bedroom, pleasant use of ample space. Walk into the hall, though, and you'll see what else needs to be done. Rooms were clean and quiet, so no complalints. Oddly, for a luxury hotel, the pillows were thin and inexpensive-- reminds me of kids' camp pillows. Breakfast was nice, but the kitchen ran out of many things more than 1/2 before due to close ( eg. croissants). Staff were very pleasant, and eager to help. Easy walk to train station.

Incredible property, located near the center of Lausanne. The location, on top of a hill, offers a spectacular view of the lake and city. The service is superb; the staff is helpful and courteous.

We were very happy with the rich Swiss breakfast buffet. The hotel is located only one block away from the Metro, which easily takes you to the Bahnhof (train station) at the bottom of the hill. We made the mistake of carting our bags up the hill on arrival. Don't do that - its a much more tiring walk up the steep hill with luggage.

Room Tip: You can't beat the 180 degree view from the rooms facing the lake.

A truly beautiful hotel, situated on a hill, with breathtaking views and a world class spa. The hotel inside is immaculately kept, and everything is running like clock work. I'm certain this can be attributed to brilliant management. The room was clean and perfect, I could not have asked for better. The spa area is so perfectly kept and clean too with a sparkling pool and sunny outside terrace. I really recommend this hotel highly. Only one small annoying thing was the teens shouting and being loud outside at 2am interrupting my beauty sleep... Nevertheless, the excellent staff and grandeur of this hotel made up for everything else. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

A grand hotel in every way. Positives-our room...the staff are superb, all friendly and very well trained, concierge invaluable in recommending good restaurants and places to visit...tried two of the hotels restaurants (the brasserie and cote jardin) and very happy with the food and service...LP bar excellent in choice of drinks (and cuban cigars) and a buzzing ambience in the evening.
Negatives-habana bar was closed until september (wish i had known, but adjacent smoking room was open) and my perennial bugbear of finding only a buffet breakfast offered by the hotel.Overall we loved the hotel and

Room Tip: Modernised higher floor rooms with a lakeside view are the ones to go for

This is a Leading hotel of the world.Excellent hotel right in Middle of town.Beautiful hotel and excellent service .Cocierge Was very helpful and knowledgable.Had a plug ready and always were anticipating our needs. The room was very nice with heavenly beds and all the luxuries expected. Electrical pant press,Towel warmers and excellent toile terries.Wi Fi needs to be better and would have liked tea and coffee makers in room as saw them even in a 4 star hotel.Restaurants need more vegetarian and healthy choices.Hotel is about a mile from the Geneva lake.

Room Tip: Choose rooms with a view of the mountains or the lake.

Arrived early (11:00 am) was told that room as not ready but could upgrade to a junior suite for a small difference (less than 20% than the excellent rate I had). Well done for the receptionist who earned a little extra for the hotel for an unsold suite and made me feel better.

Doormen were excellent throughout Parking the car and bringing it up as and when needed. Well done.

Concierge from Mexico was very efficient getting local information needed.

Suite:
Nice modernised room. Excellent bathroom.
Bellboy who bought suitcases up to the room came with an adaptor in hand. Not needed as we had ours, but great anticipation as normally when you arrive your devices are in desperate need of charge and you need an adaptor. (Soon maybe we will have USB adaptor/sockets in rooms so all we need to do is plug in our USB cables & hopefully the IT industry will not change from USB to something else).
Free TV channels were plenty but limited in the Kids section in English.
Great shower Box.
Mini-Bar was free. Good point though stock was limited but sufficient though more water maybe appreciated. Also fridge temperature maybe colder as drinks were not cold enough.

Room Service:
Ordered dinner. Small misunderstanding in order as ordered pasta Napolitana and it came Bolognesa. My son was Ok anyways so not a major problem. Small mistake, but waiter offered to change immediately but we kept it. Vegetable soup was excellent. Club Sandwich was Ok (nothing special for the hotel I was in). Food was well delivered and trolley was perfect with nothing missing. Maybe the sandwhich should have come up covered though sometimes when covered the bread gets too soggy. Some places send you a small cup of soup, here there was enough for 2/3 bowls. Excellent. Size of orders was huge.

Brakfast Buffet:
Good service and good selection.
Chef on cooking section seemed junior and lacking in confidence. Maybe he was a new or an intern, if thats the case he should not be left alone in his first days as though he showed kindness and will he seemed not able of coping with orders (not full at all).

Check-Out: Efficient.

Did not use facilities (Restaurants or Spa)
