“Nice hotel 20 mins from EPFL, 30 minutes from center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

While this hotel seemed expensive to me, comparing it with the other prices in Lausanne it's actually one of the cheaper ones.

For the duration of the whole stay you get a public transportation pass, which is a nice addition. The hotel is 10 minutes (by bus) from Renens railway station (S-Bahn trains and metro) and 30 minutes from Lausanne center (either by bus, or bus-metro).

A department store (Migros) is located 5 minutes on foot from the hotel.

Overall the hotel is located in a part of town not too friendly for walking - sidewalks end and don't always lead where you'd expect them to. Going to the nearby department store involves either a large detour or walking along the road and entering through the car park. It's very suitable for a car though - it's close to the highway and main roads and there is free underground parking.

The room is small, but not too small. It contained a bed with a weird mattress pad on it, that kept sliding off the bed all the time, so I had to kept correcting it. As for storage you get a place to hang your things (for about 15 hangers) and five shelves. There is also a decent desk with a chair, as well as a small (22") TV.

The breakfast is classic Ibis breakfast with just the bare classics, so I'd recommend skipping it and going to town instead.

Room Tip: rooms on the first floor facing ground floor terrace often smell of cigarette smoke coming from the...

We where passing through on a trip from Paris to Venice so this was a good place to stop and take some time to look around the Lake Geneva area. The hotel is convenient for the highway but is definitely too far from Lausanne to walk. It is clean and the staff is friendly. The room itself was smallish but had a comfortable bed and a clean bathroom. Our only complaint was that our windows faced the road and there was a fair bit of noise from the highway (with the windows closed). The breakfast was good with the normal selection you'd expect at most European hotels.

It's nice to stay away from the city's expensive hotel but also easy access to all location.
Supermarket is block away, next to A1 highway. You need a car to stay in this hotel even it also provides guests with transportation pass liked other hotels. From the exit of the highway to the hotel is a challenge. Staffs are nice and friendly providing lots of information for tourist. Room was clean and up-to-date. It's simple Swiss experience.

This hotel was in keeping with the Swiss reputation for cleanliness and efficiency. The double bed was large and rooms had plenty of space. It is situated at the edge of Crissier so you need to go in a car if you want to eat anywhere else other than the hotel (which was reasonably priced - for Switzerland).

Car Parking was underneath the hotel and the hotel was easy to find.

This hotel is a bit far away and located in a commercial zone. Quite a pity because the countryside above Lausanne is lovely. However, this is a very pleasant (but expensive) place to stay. The bar and the dining-room are inviting. The breakfast buffet was good and plentiful. Coffee was not the best but since Nespresso is a Swiss brand, it was an acceptable deal! Service at the reception and at the bar was friendly. The room was large and rather cosy - including the bathroom. The bed quality was excellent too. The hotel offers free parking outside or indoor. WiFi was good as well. Overall good experience in this hotel despite its location.

Room Tip: This is a rather quiet area so all rooms ought to be quiet.

This is a nice hotel for business people or a quick stay on the way to another destination. The rooms were clean and comfortable and quiet and good for a night's rest. The internet worked well in our room. We didn't care for the breakfast at all especially with coffee coming from a vending machine. The black coffee was frothy and not very good (my opinion - others might like it). We had just come from two different quaint and quiet hotels with wonderful fresh-baked breads and fruits and variety in their breakfast bars and this one didn't even compare and was really not good and not at all worth the price.

At the previous places, we had been greeted by name and had been treated like house-guests instead of customers with friendly conversation so this hotel, much like a Holiday Inn Express, was just a regular hotel with nothing special to add. It is located immediately off the highway and sits in the middle of an industrial area with car dealerships all around.

Room Tip: Don't spend the extra money for breakfast - you could find much better quality food for the same...

a nice enough ibis with clean functional rooms, underground parking and a nice Breakfast. Given a choice, i would probably prefer the central ibis in future because i wanted to see the lake but i cannot commend the receptionist highly enough - when we arrived she offered us free public transport passes and explained the connections that would take us into town and gave us a map. Also, the hotel accepted euros! Brilliant if you are as disorganised as we are! Bloody expensive by ibis standards though.
