“Very good value in Zermatt, and nice people”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

I stayed in this hotel for 4 days. Everything was perfect, and good value for the money, obviously considering Swiss prices.
The pros: very good service and food. The people was nice and very responsive to our needs (I saw in other hotels was not the case).
The hotel is well located, steps from the main street, and very close to the train station and the main outlet to the mountain.
The room was very clean, well decorated, and very spacious, which is welcomed when travelling with lot of stuff for skiing.
I recommend it.
One tip. Plan to ski in both Zermatt and Cervino (next ski station in Italy connected at the top). If you do so, buy the international ticket instead of the Zermatt only and then add the Cervino when needed. It is cheaper the former. Another recommendation is to get up early, as you spend at least 30 min to get to the slopes.

Had just completed the glacier express journey from St Moritz and stayed overnight at the hotel. Very good location, a 5 minute walk from the train station. Modern room setting and very spacious. The breakfast was plentiful and the coffee good. It is very well located and quiet. The entrance is welcoming and spacious too.

Had dinner at a swiss "Stubli" which was on the opposite direction of the bahnhof, near the zermatt museum. One page menu and only swiss food. Great variety of fondue adn rosti. Highly recommended. Can imagine in winter it must be a hit. Your typical swiss rustic restaurant in the mountains.

Nice, cleans rooms and in a good location. 5-minute walk from train station and close to everything. WIFI only in lobby and some amenities (spa) not up and running in shoulder season. Stuck between floors in elevator on last morning when trying to get catch the train - just made it. We booked through Swiss rail - TA highly-rated hotels not available through rail program.

I have just left zermatt and it was great.
The hotel simi is right in the village , therefore you can access all you need. Rail -3 mins, cafes-3mins, sights, the rail or bus to the slopes.
My room was large, clean, fresh linen, quiet and had a balcony with views.
Wi-fi was in the lounge which is a negative if you need privacy for skype, however its also social as you can chat with guests!
The staff are nice, helpful in all areas
Breakfast included which was substantial. Would recommend ! Oh and pets were there which was nice especially for travellers missing their dogs!

Room Tip: Mine was 421 so views and sunshine. Very quiet as it was top floor.

We stayed in the Simi over New Years 2011 and had a fab time they come pick you up from the station even if its before your check in time! check in was swift and our room was large with a side view of all other pretty surrounding chalet'smordern with hairdryer and toiletries our bathroom had bath with power shower and double basin quite ! Breakfast was plentiful with breads cakes various jams honey etc ...fruit all the cheese's and ham's also you could order the cooked option if you wanted which we only did one day as the cereals and museli all good and on New Years day they served breakfast right up till 12 which was normally 10.30! Wifi was in Reception only, the ski room by the front door was spaious with boot warmers and a large bench! The bar loungeand reception areas seems to be the only part of the Hotel that's had an update and very stylist too! and last but by no means least the lovely Portuguese girl who runs the bar is a great assett to the hotel along the guy who plays the piano who tries really hard! Finally the location is fab just off the high street close to all bars and restaurants 5 mins walk to station and Gronergrat Mountain railway the Sunnegg is a good 15 - 20 mins walk away! one on the best restaurants if you love swiss food and good steak is on your doorstep its called (Swiss Chalet) next door to hotel. So don't be fooled by the old negative reviews of this hotel its a great four star if you want 5 star for four star money this is not the place Zermatt is Expensive and you get what you pay for!!

Hotel Simi is located 3 minutes from Zermatt station in one of the back streets. This is very convenient. The hotel itself Is not worth staying. It' very impersonal, service is very flat, rooms are spacious and clean but lacks any charm. There's WIFI in the reception area, but not in the rooms. The room prices are expensive we paid 265CHF per night in the summer.
There are much better places in Zermatt, with more amenities and better service at similar price levels.

We stayed at the hotel for 1 night only. The hotel room was quite spacious, nice and clean. The hotel is located quite near to the Zermatt station. They have a pickup vehicle but we were not aware of the same, so we had to carry our luggage to the hotel. Also when departing though we had asked for a drop, the vehicle was out and so again we had to carry the luggage. Should make sure they write down the request.

Breakfast was good with lot of variety including hot items.

Zermatt is a very small town. There are a lot of restaurants & shopping places located nearby.

Room Tip: Ask for mountain facing rooms and at higher floor.
