“One of Zermatt's finest....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

We stopped by one morning for coffee and were so impressed we booked a table for lunch...despite it being a snowy day, which meant that the large outside area was closed making the restaurant that much busier inside, they did all they could to find us a table. The food is excellent, between us we had a selection of salads, pastas and we just had to try the burger! The desserts are spot on too, they were more than happy for us to share a 1 person Tarte Tartin between the three of us (its a good size and big enough for 3 as a nice sweet treat). The quality of the food is great, presentation is outstanding and the staff are friendly, attentive and professional. As mountain restaurants go, this is up there with the best of them. It's a bit tucked away (positioned on red run 52) and there is a bit of uphill polling after the restaurant but its definitely worth it! Had it not have been our last day in Zermatt we would definitely have eaten here again!

“Pricey but view and food are worth it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

Gorgeous view of the back of the Matterhorn and very good food. Great soup, great fresh bread with pesto dip, great cheese fondue (not too salty for us!). There is almost always a charge for tap water in the mountains (at least in the winter). Very friendly hostess and nice service. Seems reasonable that everything is pretty expensive when you think of the journey it's had to get there. As long as the sun is shining, it's worth sitting outside.

View of the matterhorn was amazing. Food, drinks and service were impeccable. Definitely recommend. Also, make a reservation to get a good table.

“Almost cheated-- reciept and menu are different!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012 via mobile

Decided to stop for lunch at this restaurant with excellent view of the Matterhorn. Alas, and the Matterhorn was the only good thing. The cheese fondue was too salty, and they over charged us. If I had not realised, I'd be payIng much more than the price on the menu. Ordered tap water as its free in Switzerland. The lady serving us grudgingly agreed and charged us 2.50Fr each! Then she confiscated my receipt. Best thing, this is not even on the menu. Food quality may be subjective, but integrity in business should be first and foremost! Its a disgrace to the excellent reputation of the Swiss.
