We're just back from a week's skiing holiday, staying at the Jagerhof. We checked it out her before we went and although most reviews were positive we were a bit worried by some of the negative ones. Now we've been we can't see where the negative views came from. The rooms weren't huge, but were big enough to store all our gear. They were clean and were well serviced.
The staff were friendly and attentive, even at the busiest of feeding times. Nothing was too much trouble. The hot water did fail at one stage, but was back on within 30 minutes of reporting it.
the food was excellent and the menus were varied.
It's not a party hotel if that's what you want and the location meant a good walk in ski boots to the ski bus stop. This walk was the main drawback, but outside of skiing you aren't far from any of the main shops or bars.
Overall, we'd be happy to go back if we ever visited Zermatt again.
It was also good value booked as part of the skiing package, but I think it's typically expensive for Switzerland if you book individually.
