Modern hotel with a spacious feel. You enter the hotel through a tunnel that takes you to lift entirely encased in glass. The stairway that winds its way around the lift is made of an opaque substance.
Our room was on the top floor in the new wing (401A) and had fantastic views of the Mattehorn - although the glacier paradise ski lift tower somewhat obscured our view (life can be tough). Room was large with huge windows and a sealed fireplace that we didn't use. Great deck area with table and chairs. Shower and bed were the best that we had experienced in Europe - although the shower did have a curtain- it didn't stick to you and was better than having nothing as some modern open showers tend to have.
It had a Nespresso machine (but we did have to ask for refills) and no mini fridge (but we asked for ice buckets each evening and that worked for us).
Breakfast had an incredible choice of food - There were about 10 cheeses, 10 breads, nuts, dried fruit, fruit salad etc and the spec bacon was the best!
The indoor outdoor pool and spa was a wonderful way to relax at the end of the day. Afternoon tea and cakes/biscuits was always available (free) and there was also fresh fruit to snack on.
Although it's a moderate walk to the town center we found a great Italian restaurant virtually across from the main entrance.
