“Fantastic Views and a little bit scary too”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

Driving the Furka Pass was one of the highlights of our trip to Switzerland. We set off about 10am from Brig and headed to it on our way to Austria. We had read that it can be a fairly dangerous road and with this we drove steady and with care. everyone else seemed to be doing likewise which was good. Our little mini (packed full of camping gear) managed to cope with all the twists and turns without a problem and the road had lots of places to pull in to let others overtake or just to get out and take pictures. The road is well maintained and feels pretty safe apart from one bit which didnt seem to have any crash barriers to prevent you from driving over the edge! The views were spectacular and once we finally got to the other side of it (took about 40 minutes to an hour with stops), we started to relax a bit....you need to keep your concentration! Overall, a fantastic road!

“one of the best scenic drive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

we did over 2700 miles during our road trip of Europe and this along with other mountain passes(St Gotthard, oberalp and Grimsel) was the highlight of the trip. you climb up through furka and then on to the valley and then again on top using Grimsel, it does take a whilte to do this 2 passess but it is worth it, one can also stop and enjoy Rhone Glacier, the entrance to the glacier is through the shop on the top and a small fee is paid for the entry(I recommend stopping and visiting the Glacier on this pass). The view is fantastic but unfortunately the driver cannot enjoy much because of the sharp bends. This pass became popular after James bond Goldfinger movie which was shot here, we filled fuel in our car at the same petrol station in Andermatt as shown in the movie(the first station you see when you enter Andermatt). for anyone who likes driving on high altitude mountian passes they will surely enjoy this one.

“Drive over the Furka Pass”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

I was part of a group of approx 60 people in 20 low value cars who made the trip across the Furka Pass recently. Our journey started near Aylesbury, England and finished in Monaco. The purpose of the trip was to raise funds for the well know charity Help for Heroes. We raised almost £30,000 between us!

The views from the Furka Pass were simply awesome! Almost round every bend was a spectacular panorama. There are plenty of places to pull in to and admire the scenery. A camera is a must on the trip. We were lucky to have really good weather and with hardly a cloud in the sky it was very warm too. I would highly recommend doing this drive if you can.

“Awesome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

Go in September after the holiday rush. Open roads all to yourself. Don't go too late as the snow can come in and close the road, and give yourself plenty of time to stop and take in views. Visit the Rhone Glacier opposite the hotel and walk inside the glacier for CHF7. We drove from Chur along the 19 then turned off on the 6 to Interlaken. Amazing!
