“Closed for refurbishment!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2014

Major refurbishment (May 2014). Looks like it will be quite a long time before it will reopen for "business". One side chapel is open but strike this off your walking plans for a while! Especially as it's uphill to get there!

“Not now!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

Lugano's cathedral is undergoing a complete restauration, and is therefore closed; only the small, but nice chapel dedicated to Mary of all Graces is open to public.

“Soul satisfying”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013 via mobile

The church has a marvelous view of the city and Lake Lugano, located halfway between the railway station and the lake. It has a lovely early Renaissance facade and a Baroque interior with seveal lovely frescoes. The church dates back to at least 1078, and is well worth a visit for its beauty, the view, and its soul-satisfying peacefulness.

“Beautiful Church”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

Well placed in the small town and a feeling of awe and holiness on a hot day. A spiritual oasis that relaxed us and left us content.

“BEING RENOVATED”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

The main church is almost completely obscured with scaffolding and temporary walls. The small side chapel is open and beautiful, though.
