I stayed for a week in Francesca and Sanny's B&B while attending a congress in Lugano. Francesca very kindly lent me a bicycle which was perfect for getting around the town, and this did not cost extra. I also paid a lower rate (CHF 60 per night) and organised my own breakfast - I had full use of the kitchen and could use the coffee and milk and so on. I also did washing in the washing machine which was very helpful.
While the house is right on the railway line, you soon get used to the trains passing by and it is basically very quiet there - the house is at the end of an old beautiful path/road and you never hear cars.
My bed was extremely comfortable and the linen was pretty. There is not much space to hang things apart from a row of hooks, so a few coat-hangers would be a good idea.
During the week there was often no one there and I felt completely safe and peaceful. Both Francesca and Sanni were very welcoming and helpful. This is a great alternative to an impersonal hotel.
