“Hotel and clinic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

The room was very nice: spacious, clean, comfortable, cosy with a very nice view on the lake. The breakfast could have more choices but probably it was ok for Swiss tradition. The only thing we found a bit embarrassing is the fact that this is a hotel and clinic at the same time. As a result a lot of elderly people in wheel chairs around. For the rest - nice stay.

I can't begin to tell you how beautiful the views were from the balcony of my hotel room. And how much I loved the room itself. With a kitchen, living room, and separate bedroom, this place was bigger than my own apartment! It was very clean and had very chic, modern design. It was also very close to the train station, and an easy walk down to the lake. The only downfalls of my stay were that I had to wait at reception for 10 minutes before anyone even showed up, their wifi wasn't working, and their fitness center was closed on the weekend (do people not need to work out on the weekends??). Otherwise, I thought this was a lovely place that I would gladly return to again!

We booked the suite for 4. The Appt itself is quiet big with all the utensils. It is near by station (5mins walk) careful it's comes under Maraini parco, they have same entry so don't miss it. This hotel shares a compound with elderly home/senior living. So don't get surprise if you see old people hanging around. It's in a kindda parc so it's rich in nature and with bus 5 you can go down to center within 5-7 mins. The pool at evening is empty so you can enjoy and their fitness is not bad and over all for a Tessin/lugano which is soo expensive. It's remains a good deal. I would recommend.

This was a stopover for us en route to Italy. Huge apartment, clean and airy. Set in a nice park above the town.
No time to explore but would stay again. Lots of room for families. A better option than being squished into a small hotel room.
Nice kitchenette fully equipped.

Secure underground parking and we didn't get charged for this.
Lugano can be pricey. For the area this was a bargain.

Mariani Resort is a hidden gem- do not stay anywhere else! The location is very accessible to the train station (a quick and easy walk up the hill, less than 1/2 mile) and the funicular to the city center (also located at the train station). The condo is gorgeous and includes a king sized bed, free wi-fi, and an absolutely priceless view! This is a beautiful complex, well kept and impeccably clean with lush landscaping. A fabulous, comfortable, picturesque accommodation. We had a "picnic" on the patio our first night, as the view at sunset was too good to miss!

Myself & my husband stayed here for 3 nights as we were invited to a wedding. We were both very impressed by the quality & standard of our room. Superb views overlooking the lake & a very quiet place indeed. We would stay here again. My only issue was getting back into the resort after the wedding late at night we did not know that you had to press a button for the gates to open & we ended up having to climb over the fence & a security guard or police man came asking us what we were doing. But that was probably our fault for not taking any notice when we left the resort.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a lake view

I stayed in this place for 3 weeks with 1 year old baby during August. The apartment itself is quite comfortable, specious room sand nice view. That's is the only advntage of this place. If you come for a few nights- no problem, but to have long vacation it is definitely not the right place to visit.
You would think that staying in Switzerland means peace and silence, well I live in down town of Moscow city and believe me it is much quieter in there. As the bld is located next to the high way, there are always some ambulance cars around, yesterday morning there was a Helicopter which didn't want to leave. A few nights in a raw some crazy ppl were screaming in the yard so my baby generally wakes up not herseld but from the noises.
Oh, by the way, the apartments rented are in the nursing house, which neither agency told me nor non of the the reviews that red before. So, when you go to a pool, get ready to swim with other hundred years old ppl. Or outside for a walk, or to the cafe. I don't have anything agains them, but not on my summer vacation I guess:)
The "resort" is located on a hill next to the train station. So with a stroller it is a night mare to go down - better by bus. Train station (not Lugano only), funicular, even some buses don't have a convenient exit- entrance. And Swiss are not very helpfull ppl:)
Either than that- go and enjoy Lugano! It is a pretty nice city if u live at the lake side! Thank you to Interhome Moscow office who did such a nice recommendation!
