This is our second time in this hotel, and yet again we were very happy with our stay. The hotel has been recently renovated in all rooms and has a new spa, garage, fitness and breakfast room to finish the work.
This time around we were upgraded to a superior room, which whilst offering the same (good) amenities such as wide screen tv, comfortable beds, new bathrooms/shower, it is a little bigger than the standard double which from memory is quite small. The extra few chf needed for the superior room I would recommend now I have seen it and compared to a standard.
The hotel is right opposite the station (but not unsafe, nor is it loud) and only 5-10 mts walk from the castles and town centre - perfectly located. It has a small covered parking garage (terrible tight entrance), but also has other spaces in other garages nearby in the case their own garage is full.
The spa area is small but very well done, including sauna, jacuzzi, steam baths, salt rooms, relaxation and a small fitness area. If you go to a hotel only for "spa" you may find this a little tiny, but for the end of the day, after exploring the area and the castles, this is really perfect.
The new breakfast room is large, but also lacks a little passion and love - clear plastic chairs and grey tables lend rather austere and cold environment, and it could do with more "warmth". Feels a bit factory like. The buffet, also small, is enough for those not wanting a cooked breakfast, but be warned that some may find it inadequate. I can also imagine that if all tables were full, it would be simply chaos as people fight over the selection of food laid on one one table at the end of the room...
Free (but quite slow) wifi is available and staff were welcoming and friendly. All in all a really good and highly recommended hotel, which although not perfect does represent good value for money considering this is Switzerland!
