Stayed at the Languard for just one night prior to a Glacier Express adventure. The hotel sits up on the hill overlooking the lake and next door to the huge Kulm Hotel. The first tip is to ignore any walking directions from Google. Instead from the station head towards and thru the ground level of the adjacent multi-story car park and you'll then find a series of escaltors up to the main street and next to Badrutts Palace Hotel. From there the remaining walk up the hill is not too bad.
The Languard is a smaller family run B&B property and the welcome was warm. It is a simple hotel and really a tad expensive for what it is, but as many others have said; St. Moritz is just one big shopping centre for the rich and the hotel prices reflect that, even in summer.
We stayed in a corner double room and it was a good size with a balcony overlooking the town below and the lake. The room was a little dated but it was functional. The TV was small and old but it did carry all the European cable channels.
Breakfast was downstairs in a room overlooking the lake. Just a simple buffet but it had everything and nothing seemed too much trouble for the hosts.
The Languard came recommended by friends and also by many on Trip Advisor. Really I expected more for the price, but then I keep being told it was in St.Moritz. But all that said there was nothing really lacking at the hotel but then there was nothing really to highlight other than perhaps the view and the warmth of the hosts. At the end of the day it was a pleasant spot to spend a night before or after the big train ride and I don't think anyone would really come away too disapointed, so worth a try I say.
If your budget runs to it then the larger corner rooms are a good size and they have a balcony.
