“Very friendly and helpful staff, good value for money!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2012

Large, modern, clean and simple rooms, our had also a balcony and great views of the mountains.

The staff was very friendly and helpful in answering questions, finding activities and dining options.

The whole family used the swimming pool for several hours in the evening, and was told to hold on as long as we wanted even if the pool should have been closed at 20.00.

Positive with free wi-fi in the reception area, would love to have this room as well.

A big plus also for Davos card we received for free in conjunction with accommodation at the hotel. This included among others free travel with all lifts of Davos area and thereby saved us a considerable amount.

Breakfast was very good and varied, but moderate standard

All in all a very good hotel with fantastic service. Really good value for money!

relatively expensive hotel for what it offers. must admit that there is a good breakfast, good location but the rooms are very basic. the service from the reception friendly in the basic level only.
adding the all additional prices (room, city tax , parking) is rather expensive.
it is too big, like in the hospital.
Ah, and the SPA (vary very basic) and the swimming pool is closed 11:00 -16:00and after 20:00, so it means it is completely useless, even when was horrible weather we could not go to the swimming pool.

Hotel is not bad, don't get me wrong. But it's no way match for its price. Rooms are very old-school - 2 separate beds combined instead of a queen size. a tiny old tv. Even though, it was clean and cozy.
The distance between the reception and the room is too big. Two different elevators and long way to walk. too bad.
The staff is very nice and helpful and the location is fantastic

I stayed in this hotel during a conference in Davos. Although the service and staff are correct and friendly I do think the rooms are a bit Spartan. Maybe this is typical for a ski resort (I am not a skier) but I expected a bit more luxury. A small bed, simple wooden chair, an old TV... Could very well be that the more expensive rooms are better. Staff is friendly - I mentioned there was no security stop on the shower (almost burned myself with hot water) and they were going to look into it. Check before you use the shower in room 2002 though.

I've arrived at this hotel straight from hospital in Glasgow. The staff, from the gentleman who greeted us to breakfast staff, was very helpful, caring, offering tea with lemon and honey whenever I appeared. The room we had was very comfy, clean and spacious. The location just off main street and right in the centre, near restaurants, lifts and stores, just minutes from train station. Great breakfast, buffet-style, with fresh, tasty choices. Would not hesitate to stay again. Be sure to take a gondola up Jakobshorn!

Room Tip: I believe all rooms have some sort of mountain view, but corner suite we had was priceless.

So we stayd for a weekend with friends and had a good time at Hotel Alexander! The young manager really looked after us, say hi and have a chat if you bump into him, he might tell you a story or two! The Spa-thing was OK, quite a walk nonetheless. Our room was nice and tidy and I really slept well (we were in the main building). The hotel is a former hospital (I think) and the hotel didn't fully took over the buildings yet, which we really enjoyed – it was a bit creepy, like, good creepy! Nothing bores the heck out of me as these generic hotel chains... But they really have to take care of their patios, it was such nice weather and they were full of snow and no seating at all. Breakfast was decent. Prices are high in Davos, as in this hotel, but that's life, not complainin.

We went to Davos for a snowboarding weekend and had a large group of friends booked into the hotel. After checking in and walking through a maze to finally find our room which was actually in another building and only accessible by first going right to the bottom of building 1 (2 floors down) and then going to the 2nd floor in the next building) , the couples had all been booked into single & twin rooms. Once we had carried our gear and luggage back to the reception were we given the keys to the correct rooms.

After a day of being out in the snow we all looked forward to having hot shower. That seemed to be the next problem, as only two people (out of 11) had hot water.

We called reception to get the keys for another room to shower in (after not wanting to relocate with all our gear etc again), we found that none of the rooms offered had hot water. The very same happened the next morning. The receptions said it was peak showering time, hence no hot water .

This , especially for the price paid, was very disappointing. The breakfast was fine, the rooms (once in the correct one) were clean and comfortable and our stay would have been very pleasant had we had hot water in a hotel based in a top ski resort.

Dear Miss Burkhardt.
I am very sorry to hear your stay was not perfect all the way through.
As I was also helping out at this time we met upon your check in and you did not seem to be unhappy so far.
The problem about the hot water is now solved and we are having hot water 24/7 no matter about peak showering times.
I hope we can make your stay better the next time.
Kind regards
Lorenz Diebold
