We stayed at the Ibis Chur, in Switzerland, for one night, en route from Zurich, to Mals, in Italy.
We have stayed in a number of Ibis hotels over the years, usually only when there isn't a Novotel or Mercure in the area. Consequently, we're aware that they aren't luxury. The rooms are usually basic, functional, clean, and the breakfast is usually acceptable to good.
When we arrived, we parked our car in the underground carpark. There was no charge to do so, which was a surprise. However, after paying considerably more for our room than we'd ever paid to stay in an Ibis hotel in the past, I'm sure the cost of parking our car in the underground carpark was well and truly provided for in the total accommodation charge.
After entering our room, we were surprised at how much smaller it was than most other Ibis hotels, where we have, previously, stayed. It was a battle to place all of our luggage in the room, where we weren't having to walk over it, when it was open.
After travelling all day, we were tired, so we promptly went to bed. My wife immediately complained about the bed being 'hard' and uncomfortable. We then started to hear a 'flapping' noise outside our room, which was caused by the increasing wind, causing the flags to flap on three poles, literally metres from our window. These flags are in the grounds of the petrol station, which is situated next to the hotel. The wind gradually increased, and by 10.00pm, the flapping sound was loud and strong. This went on all night, which caused me to have regular interrupted sleep.
The next morning we went down to breakfast, which was held in a rather small room adjacent to reception. We had to sit at a table that had the plates, cups and 'left-overs' from the people who had been sitting there prior to us. After a couple of minutes, the table was cleared and wiped down. We felt the breakfast choices were very limited, and nothing hot was offered. To be honest, it was probably the most basic breakfast that we've been served in an Ibis Hotel.
I can assure you, I have not enjoyed writing this review! However, when I don't think things are as they should be at an accommodation venue, I'll be truthful and frank about my experience. I have praised other venues that we've stayed in, because they, in my opinion, were very good, or excellent.
For the amount we paid to stay in this venue, I expected more!

Thanks a lot for your detailed review. I am very sorry, that you have not been entirely satisfied with your stay in our hotel. We are always grateful for any constructive criticism, which allows us to improve the quality of our services continuously.
But if you encountered some problems during stay, it would have been great if you could let us know immediately so we could have offered you another solution.
On your review you said that you expected more for the amount you paid. How could it be possible? We offer a double room from 99 CHF, parking in the garage and WIFI included. The hotel offer 24 hour service and all the rooms have be completely renovated in the autumn 2013. Our is definitely the be offer on place!
Our room’s size is on the average of a standard Ibis room and the breakfast is the standard breakfast of all the Ibis Hotel in Switzerland.
