I stayed in this hotel for one night - located in the small car free town of Murren it is well located to take advantage of the great walks in the areas as well as being just a shortwalk from the station.

This is a 3 star family run Swiss hotel with not many frills but perfectly adequate for a Swiss Alpine experience . It is also good value. Breakfast was continental with lovely Swiss Breads and Muesli.

The area is magnificent and this hotel will serve you well in exploring it

We stayed in a double room with a beautiful view of the mountain. Rooms are clean and a decent size. This hotel is a little hike uphill from the lift, but you're sure to be hiking uphill wherever you stay in Murren. We were only there for one night, but the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. We arrived on the last lift and although it was after hours at the restaurant, they seated us anyway - the food was delicious! We checked out the next morning, and the hotel let us leave our bags while we hiked and explored during the day. We would certainly stay there again - Murren is a perfect town to stay in if you are visiting the Interlaken area and plan to take the lifts to eat at Piz Gloria. Though we didn't have time to check it out, they also gave us passes to the swimming pool at the sports center next door.

What can be said about this idyllic place that hasn't been said before. Murren is a wonderful little gem in the middle of the alps. The Jungfrau Hotel (a moderate-sized hotel with ample rooms) is very nice. The our room faced the alps and was spacious. The hotel is about mid-way through the town of Murren and is well situated as a base to hike and ride to the Schilthorn or visit nearby Wengen. The restaurant was first rate.

I stayed at the Jungrau with my 91 year old mother and the staff could not have been more helpful, or kind. They picked her up from the station with our luggage, and made no issues at all about giving half portions of food. The food was delicious, and always given with a beaming smile. Nothing was too much trouble. It is our third visit and I think each time it will not be as good, but if anything each time it is better! The view from our end room was awesome, we were able to sit on the balcony and watch the Allmendhubel train run up and down, watch the villagers cut and toss hay and collect it all by hand, hear the birds sing and go to sleep to the tinkling of cowbells. Idyllic.

Friendly, accommodating staff, eager to make your stay a pleasant one. Beautiful views of the mountains, some rooms with balconies. Simple but very adequate and comfortable room and bath. Fast and very reasonable laundry service--$15 for a bag and back same day. Jovial bartender and cheerful bar setting. Nice restaurant, good food.

I sat on my balcony for at least 1/2 of my trip. The view of the Alps just a stone's throw from your room is absolutely outrageous! The town is so peaceful. I sat there and listened to the birds chirping, including a friendly little sparrow, and the cows mooing and their Alpine bells ringing. Everything that you could want to reach in very close, and the proprietor was great! Anything that you wanted to know, she was glad to speak with you. Breakfast was included and was pretty good and was pretty typically Swiss - müesli, cheese, bread, boiled eggs, etc. My only complaint is that I felrlike the room could have felt a little cleaner, but it would not keep me from returning. I loved my stay!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The popular 3* hotel is the perfect location for your summer and winter holidays. Built in 1894, it was then extended and renovated several times. The management was taken over in autumn 2010 by Alan and Veronique Ramsay (former management at the Eiger Guesthouse in Mürren from 1999 until 2010), a young Swiss-Scottish partnership. The hotel is perfectly situated in the upper village between the local sports centre and the Allmendhubel train, 5-10 min walking distance from both stations. In the winter a real "ski-in ski-out" hotel next to the ski-school piste, the hiking trails start from our door. Enjoy the view to the Jungfrau massif from your balcony or marvel at the skiers on the slopes. All rates include our large hot and cold breakfast buffet (with bacon and eggs, birchermuesli, fresh fruits, cereals, ...) and free entrance to the swimming pool at the sports centre and ice rink in winter. ... more   less
