“Amazing Place... Not to be missed at all !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013 via mobile

If the sky is clear.. There is not a better viewpoint.. You can see the 3 biggest mountains (Eiger-Monch-Jungfrau) on one side.. Mt.Blanc (France) on other side and German Black Forest on the third side. The views are gobsmacking.

The weather changes frequently. 1st time we went, Müren was clear but by the time we went to Schilthorn it was all cloudy :( we came again the next day and when the weather was bright and that's when we saw the breathtaking beauty.

Tip: Take a Funicular from Laurerbrunen to Müren and return to Laurerbrunen via Gimmelwald.
Rotating Café atop is totally overpriced. Avoid!

“Get above the clouds and admire the view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

We went to Schilthorn because the weather wasn't great when we were staying in Interlaken and so we were not able to go to up to the Jungfraujoch (and this is considerably cheaper). The views at the Schilthorn were stunning and it was really interesting jostling with the skiers in the cable cars and watching them launch themselves off piste at the top. first cable car is at an very acute angle to perhaps not ok if you are very fearful of heights.

“Worth the expense”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

Take the telecabines all the way up. There is the famous revolving restaurant (food overpriced but decent) and amazing views. Watch the snowboarders jump off the roof. Eiger, Monch and Jungrau are really pretty impressive. Might be more fun to hike it next time.

“World Class Views!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

We took the 7:40am cable car for a ride up to the Schilthorn Piz Gloria for a wonderful 007 buffet breakfast at the famous revolving restaurant (featured in at least one 007 movie). The sun was out and the Alps were glorious!!

Breathtaking panoramas of the mountains, valleys and even the lakes near Interlaken. The buffet is wonderful and extensive, but quite expensive (29.90 CHF each). We lucked out that our Murren hotel, Alpenruh, offered free breakfast passes to the Piz Gloria buffet. What a wonderful way to spend the morning!

After 2 hours, the clouds rolled in over the mountains and up the valleys, and we were literally in the middle of a snow blizzard! How cool is that?! People who arrived two hours after we did were complaining about there being nothing to see after the very expensive ride up!

“Next to heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

The most magnificent view on earth. 360 degree view of the Swiss alps, viewed from a mountain top platform (including revolving restaurant). Big black birds flying around the mountains added to the glory of it. Words cannot describe this and I'll include photos. We had breakfast in the revolving restaurant and it was delicious! There is a walkway all the way around the platform so every step is a gorgeous view!! It takes two cable cars to reach the top and the views going up are equally as stunning. The gift shop staff were great. When we got home, we decided to buy a Swiss watch which we had only seen in this shop (not available on the internet). We contacted Hotel Alpenruh (where we stayed) and they connected us to the gift shop clerk who helped us. Everyone knows each other and the clerk even remembered us. The Swiss Railway pass got us discounts on the cable cars. We spent two days here; next time we'll spend a week!!
