I think the hotel has 2 parts-Carlton & Europe. We stayed in the nicer Europe part which had the better rooms & breakfast.
Staff were fine. Not overly friendly or helpful but did there job adequetely.
Room was large, with a lovely balcony & views of the mountains from every window. Bathroom was a good size.
Enjoyed having our own kettle with complimentary teas and coffee.
Location was excellent, a short walk from the train station and large Coop for groceries & in town. I suggest going to the bar at the Victoria Hotel for drinks, which although not cheap had the best cocktails I have had. The bar at the Carlton Europe looked a bit drab & we didn't visit.
Breakfast-my girlfriend said it was one of the best she had, I thought it was quite good. Bircher muesli, fruits, seeds, nuts, yoghurts, lots of breads, some pasties, cereals etc. The scrambled eggs were often tough & I would wait for a fresh batch to come out to get some as it was not nice when it was left for a while-the group I was with all noticed this.
