“Wonderful Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2009

We were lucky enough to stay more than once in this hotel. The first time, in September 2008, we were disappointed by the bathroom (as some other reviewers), but the second time, end of January, we had a new bathroom and this is a all the difference, it is beautiful. We spent hours in the SPA. We had a good dinner at La Terrasse (that’s true that the price was high, but we are in a 5* in Switzerland; on the downside, the service was too slow); the breakfast, in the same place, was very good.

We hold a meeting there every couple of years and I must say that everytime it's a real pleasure, even if we only stay there for 1 night. I always find a way to get a moment in the SPA : swimming pool is great, as well as is the outside slat-water pool with whirlings. On top ESPA and Clarins services, for those with longer times to spend there (and some more money).

Breakfast is very well and concierge very helpful and friendly.

As for business their big rooms are new and very well set up. A lot of break-out rooms are available in the old building and all are really classy.

Difficult to find a bad point (price must be high, but I never paid there...).

We took the train from Geneva to Interlachen. We walked to the Hotel and it is a real sight to behold as the sun is setting with the surrounding Mountain views. We had dinner at the Brasserie there and there were not many people around. We had excellent service and an string quartet and solo violinist serenaded us. The overall decor and look of the Hotel is lovely. They just need to seriously update their rooms and bathrooms. You do NOT have to take a car to get to skiing. There is a small train station a few blocks on the other side of the hotel that will take you to Grindewald and you can get the ski lifts from there all year round. We took it and walked back down the Jungfrau Mountains stopping for lunch midway. It is just a lovely town and we didn't go for the hotel, we went for the surrounding scenery which is breathtaking.

  • Liked — The architecture of the place and the village and surrounding scenery
  • Disliked — the older "worn" rooms and baths

The interiors are tired and need refurbishment. Bathrooms are just embarassing.
The stuff is clueless and have no idea what the good service should be all about.
ESPA is excellent.

If someone wants to do some skiing - don't go to this hotel. It is not a ski hotel and to do some skiing you will need to take a car and go for 40 minutes to the slope!

There are three places to eat in the hotel:
- La Terrase: pretentious restaurant with "jackets only" policy. In the real life the food is blant, tasteless and there is absolutley nothing special about it.
- Pastateca: some of the worst places I have been to for a while. Menu consists of some sandwiches (!) and about 4 different pasta dishes. The actual pasta dishes are really bad. It seems that they where done by the person, who has no idea about how the food is prepared at all. Service is exceptionally bad in that place and stuff does not know the menu and does not understand the concept of food they are serving. This is the only place that is open all day, but I'd rather starve, that eat the rubbish they serve.
- Jungfrau Brasserie: the only place, that had more or less eadible food in the entire hotel. Despite the fact, that it is called Brasserie, it is open only for lunch and dinner and not inbetween.

Room service is avaliable only until 24:00 and even then, the food is quite bad.

Generally - very dissapointing place. On the positive side - I lost some weight, because of the bad food.

We stayed at Hotel Victoria Jungfrau in August of 2008.
What a WONDERFUL experience. Our rooms were beyond expectation, the view was incredible and the hotel staff were so accommodating and made us feel so at home.
We had beautiful rooms overlooking the grand lawn and gardens in the front of the hotel. It was peaceful and quiet, yet were all of the action was during the day.

The room service was exquisite and we enjoyed that ever day at least once. The Hotel Restaurant was wonderful too. Great food and the breakfasts each morning were to die for!
We loved the location of the hotel because it was right next to where the main street's activities started. It was also close to the train station where we were able to catch a horse drawn carriage to catch the cog wheel up to the top of the Jungfrau.
We plan to go back to Europe every summer from now on, and when we do go back to Interlaken, we will definitely stay at the Victoria Jungfrau again. You may think it's a little pricy, however, it's well worth it and you'll be so glad you stayed.

The spa is an experience all by itself. We are frequent recipients of massages wherever we go, and seriously, this was the best massage I've ever had. The massage therapists were very polite, they made you feel right at home, they were professional and really knew what they were doing. I could tell they had been trained by the best. I had the most relaxing experience ever. The spa is so beautiful inside and so clean and comfortable. Right when you walk in, the light and fragrant scents in the air make you want to melt. They definitely know how to serve their guests at Victoria Jungfrau; Interlaken, Switzerland.

I visited this hotel in October and had a wonderful time. I found the staff to be over-the-top helpful, especially a very sweet concierge named Herr Wyss, who helped us with a million little things during our stay. The spa was amazing - and using the saunas and pools is free of charge for guests. Don't miss the outdoor heated salt water pool! I can't say enough good things about this place. It is the real deal, huge spacious place, with very attentive staff. The setting is stunning. I ended up traveling on all over the country after my stay here but wished I had stayed right there at the Jungfrau the whole time.

Stayed here while traveling through the Alps. Tour company booked the hotel. We were pleased with all its choices. Weather was great and we got to see Jungfraujoch in sunshine. Food was abundant and good at the hotel. Loved the yellow awnings over the windows that go up and down at a touch of a button!
