Stayed here while traveling through the Alps. Tour company booked the hotel. We were pleased with all its choices. Weather was great and we got to see Jungfraujoch in sunshine. Food was abundant and good at the hotel. Loved the yellow awnings over the windows that go up and down at a touch of a button!

We've been to Interlaken several times, staying in different places each time. This was the best experience by far - although the fabulous weather all week may have biased us.

We got a very warm welcome at the registration desk, special "passport" for our younger child, and smiles from people in the breakfast room every morning who got to know our faces.

This old hotel did not seem old on the inside - it was in very good shape. Our rooms (a pair connected by a door) were large, luxurious, and the bathrooms were very modern. We had robes of different size thoughtfully provided for each member of the family. Fruit and chocolate each day. There were not a lot of children (more on the weekend), but those that were around were well-behaved and ours certainly felt welcome. During this very warm week, we were initially surprised to learn there was no air conditioning, but we found opening the windows worked fine and was refreshing. The air was great and there were no bugs. We never felt the room was too hot. The pool with outdoor saltwater jacuzzis was fabulous. The main pool would occasionally get a little crowded with lap swimmers, but the congestion would generally resolve within 10 minutes and was surprisingly empty most of the time.

We found the service to be outstanding overall. On the day we left, the doorman handed us each a bottle of cold water and gave as a very warm sendoff. We had a great time and would have no hesitation in returning, even at the admittedly pricey rates and unfavorable current exchange rate.

I have booked this hotel. After i booked i i have read the below reviwe!!! And my hands were onn my hearts. Our main objective were the kids to have it all !!!!!!!

Rooms are nice, big and have space. But no complimantry water, which most of the hotel provide. Once at the first day we had choclates and some fruits but not every day. Bathrooms need to be updated.

Breakfast was good.

Hotel staffs does not seems to be friendly and i think this hotel is not a child-freindly hotel. After coming from kimpinski hotel in st moritz we can feel the difference.

This hotel is all about making money out of you.

Anyway, there is not much choices of 5 ***** hotels in interlaken.

This hotel does not deserve to be a "Leading Hotel of the World"

We expected this hotel to be quite special based on the website and the "Leading Hotel of the World" designation. We place value on this designation and have stayed at such hotels in several other countries.

There were a few great features to the hotel but the overall impression was unfortunately negative enough to motivate me to write a review. This is in my view, not at all up to the standards of other hotels with the "Leading Hotels of the World" designation, including the Lausanne Palace and Spa in Switzerland (way nicer!). The bathroom was renovated but very small with cheap taps and oddly coloured beige sinks, tub and toilet. Tolietries were unimpressive and soap was inadequate and shockingly not replaced once used. There was no air conditioning and no fan was offered when I called to inquire about this. Instead I was haughtily told that it rarely gets hot and that people in Interlaken enjoy it when does get hot. No chocolate, bottled water, fruit or anything else was provided on a complimentary basis. This was the only hotel of six I stayed at that did not provide anything on a complimentary basis. The room had a hardwood floor with dust bunnies under the bed. Slippers were provided for going to the spa but were cheap and not luxurious.

As for value -- not good. The room rate at 400 CHF was fine until another 100 CHF was added per night on arrival when my young child was noticed at the reception desk. For this price, no additional towels or a bathrobe were provided, despite the fact that a robe was the attire to wear to the pool. Also, parking was the most expensive we found in Switzerland at 30 CHF per day.

The ambiance of the pool and hot tubs depended on the time of day. Quite civilized late at night but could be crowded with not overly supervised children in peak times. A hot tub with five toddlers, some in lifejackets, no parents with them, is not overly enticing.

The breakfast was amazing. Not cheap at 40 CHF per adult but still great. The hotel location is also great.

Go to the breakfast and stay at another luxury hotel. If you are looking for a fabulous spa in Switzerland and can go somewhere else, try the Lausanne Palace and Spa. That one is truly a "Leading Hotel of the World". This one deserves to be removed from the list.

I offered a long weekend stay to my husband for his birthday, we were very well welcomed : a bottle of champagne, fresh fruits and chocolates were in our room with a nice handwritten message from the hotel director: a great beginning.

They were very useful in proposing several options to surprise my husband for his birthday.

The restaurants are amazing, we could experience very nice food and wine.

The only "negative point" is that after having spent quite some money for the stay you still have to pay for the parking place.

I highly recommend this hotel.
