“Fantastic for the price we paid”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012 via mobile

We had a very good deal booking this hotel as a package with the trip up to Jungfrau. Hotel is near the train station and there's a co-op nearby for groceries.

Our double rooms was at 3rd floor of Eiger 2 so going back and forth was a bit of a hassle. That said, it wasn't not too bad as the hotel staff helped to carry our luggage to the room. I think we got upgraded from a Basic room to a Classic room. We had a sitting corner and balcony but there wasn't much of a view because there was another building blocking our view. Minibar and coffee (Delizio machine) was complimentary. WIFI is available in main building only.

Still, fantastic place and value for the price we paid with the Jungfrau Anniversary Offer!

This was my 7th visit to this hotel and I continue to shout its praises. I stayed for a week in one of the self catering rooms. As a solo traveler I appreciated the helpfulness and warmth of welcome that I received from the staff. The hotel is conveniently located on the village high street and groceries, bakery goods and other shopping is nearby. I strongly recommend a stay with the Heller family.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good.

Stayed here for a week in Jan on a lads ski holiday and a week in Feb with my family. On both occasions stayed in junior suite which was fantastic.

The room was clean and large enough for 2 adults and a child.

The food was great with good variety each night.

Location was good within the village.

Staff were very friendly and tended our every need.

We will be returning next year

Room Tip: Choose suite or junior suite

We chose to stay in Grindelwald so we could visit the Jungfraujoch and must say this is a fantastic hotel with great hospitality and a 5 min walk to the train station. Staff are very helpful, parking is secure and food is excellent! Highly recommended! Ps. Great view of the mountains!

Visited here 3 times for dinner during my recent visit as a solo traveller. Found the staff of the downstairs bar to be very friendly and the place had a great atmosphere.

Would recommend the "Wilhelm Tell Rosti" - Minced beef and Swiss cheese mix - all the better when washed down with a glass of Rugenbrau Beer!

Room Tip: South facing rooms have a balcony and views over the Eiger.

My wife and i have just come back from a holiday in Grindelwald Switzerland . We had been before two years ago and stayed at the fitness hotel Eiger . I gingerly booked the same hotel knowing that if you go back sometimes it is never the same . I am so impressed with the way the service has improved and nothing was too much trouble at all ,directions. heating . ironing board and plug adaptors all there all given with a smile . Every day the food was so special with multiple options .
We had a corner room this year and although it didnt have a balcony it was very spacious with a scrumptious bathroom.
Big thank you to all the staff from the maids upwards ,service this good needs to be applauded

Room Tip: corner room was very spacious with the advantage of a bed settee if required

The room was wonderfully clean and comfy. The in-house restaurant served lovely food and everyone in the place were friendly and helpful.

There is a separate smoking room where you can buy cigars as well. You can order from the restaurant, if you want your food spoiled by smoke ;-)

There was Swiss live music in the restaurant in the evening - an absolute joy.

During the summer, there are lots of local events. The night we were there, the whole street was closed off and there were jugglers and food stands and several shops stayed open late.
